Surely there can’t be any doubts about a change of direction now with announcements like this.A really good deal this one is and I can’t see any negatives at all.

Oh that is just great news and certainly a statement of intent. Feel happy that players want to come (Johnson, Farqa) and want to stay (DD). I doubt these would have been cheap either.

Agree. A player of his quality in season like we’ve just had would in the past have been definitely exiting the door .it’s great news .
Huge. Daniels, unlike others, is almost impossible to replace with the season almost upon us
(such is his quality and influence).

Possibly, but it’d be some turnaround in such a short space. Would assume DD would have been privy to any transfer dealings well in advance.
Delighted he’s signed though, if the next two or three signings are great quality (at least a rb and another st) then I’ll be getting rather excited again.
Maybe he saw the ambition and change from the Walsall owners and though… hold on a minute something may be happening here
This level of stability is so much better than seasons of wholesale changes of 18 plus players.
We might not have been as stable with a bigger named manager.

I remember a night match when Taylor was in charge and DD was still a loanee.
We were awful and at the end of the game the fans were giving the players pelters.
The guy next to me had run to the wall and was apoplectic. All of the Walsall players had (understandably) stayed around the 18 yard line except Donervan who came to talk to the fan. I didn’t hear what he was saying, but he was clearly trying to explain/placate the guy. He wasn’t even a Walsall player at that stage, but it was immediately obvious he was a special guy.
Im so pleased he’ll be wearing a Walsall shirt for another couple of years.
