Well, I hope so, RedPrince. You know, if there’s one thing I’ve learnt from being in the Army, it’s never ignore a pooh-pooh. I knew a Major, who got pooh-poohed, made the mistake of ignoring the pooh-pooh. He pooh-poohed it! Fatal error! 'Cos it turned out all along that the soldier who pooh-poohed him had been pooh-poohing a lot of other officers who pooh-poohed their pooh-poohs. In the end, we had to disband the regiment. Morale totally destroyed… by pooh-pooh!
Examples of what exactly?. The most successful period in our history???. Look it up the period 1999 to 2005 when jb was chairman
Clubs exiting grounds due to takeovers going tits up. Coventry (numerous times). Darlington. Scunthorpe. How many more would you like?
Don’t be ridiculous darling.
Oxford (soon) , Brighton (withdean) , Bristol rovers (Twerton park)
Plus you have other clubs where takeovers eliminated them completely!!!. Rushden and diamonds. Maidstone utd
I for one am glad keys park exists as a security blanket
Unleas of course Sadler steveo would like us to play at Rushall
The best BlackAdder series ever IMHO… Blackadder Goes Forth
And you lost count after those examples.
BornaSaddler is correct.Be careful what you wish for.
I would love a new ground - never really fell in love with Bescot Stadium but that might be because Fellows Park to me was just fantastic and the Street End always had some sort of mystical greatness.
Bescot always looked a bit cheap and those stanctions on a “modern” ground are simply awful.
Trivela could sell the site, buy a new site, build a new ground and leave us debt free and with a few pounds in the bank … where have we heard that before. After unexpected inflation someone has to buy the freehold to save us and we start all over again (slightly tongue in cheek!!!).
UP THE SADDLERS
I’m sure that there are many other examples of ground moves required as result of dodgy takeovers. Just couldn’t be bothered to find any more
Bob?
Not only that is pretty basic in terms of facilities. Bescot has much better areas for (home) fans and considerably more conference capacity than Chesterfield has. Bescot ain’t great, but it does have money making potential just from the location, let alone usable space. Replicating that whilst building new will not be cheap, although as long as we don’t let the current Government loose on it we could avoid an HS2 style fiasco and come in within the sum quoted.
You said there was countless examples earlier in the thread lol!.
Go enjoy Rushall mate… i think its for the best .
Nah Man Utd is his team…American owners who the fans want out…you can see where he gets his ideas from
I’ve given about 8 or 9. Think that’s enough
Where did this crazy rumour come from ?
Such a transaction would be wheeling and dealing as a property developer, It would be completely outside the remit of the investment fund started by Trivela. Great story but I can’t see it being true.
A couple of things for everyone to keep in the back of there minds
-
If Trivela are evil doers as some wish to think there are much simplier ways for the people behind Trivela to make a couple of million than selling a football stadium in WS1. The time and energy taken already in the Walsall project for these guys should demonstrate it’s about more than money as there mandate says. They are good old Southern Baptists or whatever trying to get there reward in heaven.
-
The Black country is not the property mecca of the western world .
-
The deal for Bescot would not have seen its ownership returned to Walsall Football Club if the plan was to do a behind the scenes shuffle and make a couple of million out of the land
If the rumour is true I hope we buy a supermarket site down the road , knock it down and rebuild our spiritual home.
If Trivela were as slimy and slippery as people would have you believe they wouldn’t grow their portfolio very quickly would they?
Lots of areas it could be moved too but if they’re serious about it then the old Sneyd School would be decent, just through blocko and overlooking the motorway the motorway for advertising and the training ground just down the road too.
All ifs and buts but there’s some serious amount of land there.
Sid the views on Trivella aren’t all black or white.
I appreciate their good will and intentions but have questions.
I don’t think for one minute the majority of fans have considered the where-with-alls of multiclub ownership models. Go away, see what fans of clubs further down the food chain think about losing talent for next to nothing
Consider things within the context of Trivella. We all want Boycott and Jordan to go all in and get us going. The second they buy their 2nd or 3rd club their input and focus is diluted. Trivella aren’t a big organisation are they. How will they manage more than one club. Lots of questions therefore lots of things to be sceptical about.
In fact @yellowribbonpod or it would make a good episode to try and interact with some fans of other clubs who’ve experienced this multiclub ownership. See what their views on it are.
Because, of course, Christian churches (particularly American ones) are renowned for their poverty, and desire not to accumulate wealth…
