Newport County (H) Sunday 29 Dec, 3pm

Their last two games: won one, lost one; goals for 8, goals against, 8
Bizarre.
You wonder which Newport will turn up.
Either way, we do have the squad to cope.

My biggest concern now is if Al is now this confident, that I’ll wake up tomorrow to find it’s all been a dream!

You make a good point. MS made a similar point about the Cheltenham game. He hinted that changes would be needed by then. I doubt we will see many on Sunday but we might find some players introduced earlier from the bench. McEntee must be close to a full game either in defence or midfield and Earing may well start one of the games.

Exactly what i was thinking, Good delivery into the box from Allen, and throws from H is a must on Sunday

Noticeable how our set pieces have improved over last few games,Sadler stating we always looking at different ways to score and players thanking goalkeeper coach for his input shows togetherness of players and backroom staff.
We are not sitting on our laurels but aiming to always get better as individuals and as a team.

He’d probably need stabilisers at this time of year!

We seem to get Newport at home this time of year, been some high scoring games. 3 - 2 :red_circle::white_circle::black_circle:

Just noticed we’ve only beaten Newport once in the 11 times we’ve played them since 1987…never won at home in that time either. We definitely need to set this record straight…4-1 win.

Totally agree with this.

I think our club record number of league wins in a row is 7. Two to go…

Any idea what the record is for any League 2 team?

Luton, 12.

Edit…also Stockport last season.

I remember Stockport going on a crazy run in 06/07. Pretty sure they didn’t concede for a load of the games too.

4-0 win for the super Saddlers.

Stockport won 9 in a row that season all without conceding a single goal, but then fell apart and won only 1 of the next 10 including a 7-2 home defeat by Rochdale. Ended up even missing out on the play-offs after looking certainties to chase us down the night Dosh started Ciderquest up front on a grim and tetchy Tuesday night when it looked things were unravelling with a third straight loss.

That was a bloody awful week.

Who I think under the right manager with the right mentor would be a lower league gem.

His Moors highlight reel is probably up there with the best. Scissor kicks, 30 yarders, volleys, all from a “target man”

This kid was plucked by Moors from Sunday league at 18/19. Very much Deeney-esque.

Think he’s a bit lost in the Huddersfield Town mega squad model.

Maybe a Jamma understudy ? Could learn off him. As Deeney did with Mooney all those years ago

We need to lay this statistic to rest.

Is Bill Moore’s 13 undefeated still our best unbeaten run?
