And so the band marches on, I fully expect the winning streak to continue tomorrow.
I think Sadler may tweak it a little just for rest purposes only, but everyone is playing so well even that will be a difficult decision.
If I have a (very tiny) complaint about this side, we don’t score enough goals in the 1st half of games imho. I know we have scored in the 1st half but having 1-0 leads is not as comfortable as a 2-0 lead, that way we don’t have to go hell for leather in the 2nd half and wear ourselves out.
It’s just a thought I had. There’s been plenty of times this season when we’ve scored first and won the game, but I’m always thinking another one would be really nice - just to give us a cushion.

Although I think I see your point on the balance of goals scored in each respective half - at over 2 PPG mate, I wouldn’t have thought there’d be any complaints about goals (generally speaking…)
Remember that night well. We were shit.
Possibly our poorest away following of that season too. The whole night was awful.
Our dip into the loan market just afterwards was a saving grace you wouldn’t have expected us to have needed a few months before.
Which underscores why this season there is absolutely no room for complacency whatsoever.
Not sure why, but I think this is going to be a slog tomorrow.
But 3 points would be amazing, with Notts away coming up.
1-0 Saddlers
Here’s some extended highlights from that game! It’s a shame that there isn’t much decent footage from that season, apart from probably our worst performance…
Commentator struggled with names of Walsall players.
I hope you’re right, I’m bringing a carrier bag just in case.
Very noticeable wasn’t it? Keates, Gerrard and Hector Sam got mentioned but that was petty much it. Oh and a snidey comment about Clayton Ince too. Either not bothered to have done any homework or just highly partisan.
Wayne Hennessy in goal for them on that run. Only 20 at the time.
Never take anything for granted but our game tomorrow looks the easiest compared to vale who go to Grimsby. Doncaster who go to Colchester and Crewe who are at Mk.
We couldn’t be going to Notts County 12 points clear with a game in hand could we?
I’m going for a nervy 2-1 win (so we’ll probably smash them 6-0).

Yes it is quite sobering!! Stockport away is usually a decent away day but even the atmosphere in the pub before the game was rank. It was back in the days when I went to most games and I remember getting texts off others warning me to keep it schtum, and they were right! Wrote my “coming home from Stockport” poem about that very night, it was one of those “why am I doing this?” On the train home. I think I was the only person on for the last two hours, never mind all good therapy that literally everyone else had an equally shit night, albeit it’s taken nearly 20 years for everyone to open up about it.
Bar Fleetwood, we haven’t lost a game of football in all comps with our “settled” 11.
And that was 3 months ago
Sssshhhh
I’d have taken 4 points over this period a draw against Donny and a win against Newport so with us beating Donny and these being a bogey team I’d happily walk out of the Bescot with a point today. Can’t win em all.
I can feel myself getting a bit greedy with an air of expectation that is quite dangerous.
I’d take a win, a draw and a loss from these three games. Hopefully the win or draw coming from Notts County to deprive them of points. Would mean we’d taken ten points from the five festive games which keeps us ticking over at that magical two per game ratio.
We will hit another patch. As @Blazing_Saddler said, we did have one about six weeks ago which didn’t do too much damage. It’s about making that patch as short as possible. At some point the wider squad will have a vital role to play.
Newport are the biggest odds with the bookies to win today in all 4 divisions. Even seen them at 10/1 yesterday ( crazy odds). 2-1 win but with Norman scoring his mandatory goal against us
He’ll have no chance of scoring against us today.
Fair play to him if he does. It would be one hell of a strike from Prenton Park.
Wind-assisted, it’s doable.
