Just had a look at Northampton squad as hardly know who play for any of these league 2 teams.
Their forward options are Harry Smith who scored 9 goals for Macclesfield last season, Andy Williams who I’d forgotten about but he scored 12 goals for them last season and Vadaine Oliver who scored just 7 goals in 60 odd games for Morecambe.
Think this will be a 1-1, nice solid start to the season.
Can’t help thinking this first match is like going t’et funeral in breawn boots, you may think you look swell but you look like a tit.
Starting without a proper recognised striker? A headless chicken running round aimlessly. Very disappointed, would have thought we would have gone out relentlessly in order to start with someone up front to score.
Has DC not heard about the Walsall disease?
Still, in DC we trust. 0-0 would be acceptable away from home.
Harry smith scored one of his goals for Macclesfield against us in the league cup last year. 3-3 and they won in penalties if I remember correctly. 1-2 Walsall, Sinclair to score first and flash to prove everyone wrong with another over head kick from the edge of the box. 1-0 but I’m not sure whether we will win or lose. Can’t see us scoring too many or conceding many. If we concede then I don’t think we have the creativity to break down a team who chooses to defend. If it’s 0-0 after 70 minutes then I think we will win 1-0.
We do need another striker no doubt. But I do like what I see in adeybayo he will be a handful. Let’s reserve judgement til 4.55pm tomorrow. UTS

Harry smith impressed me for Macclesfield last season against us. Proper handful. Will be a tight game I reckon but I think we’ll sneak it 1-0
going 1-1 battle of the midfield for me both teams strong there.
Going on the pre-season games, I predict we will start with 532, stick with that for an hour then swap out everybody but Sadler for the last 30 and go 442 with Candlin as the target man
