Lowe was already getting into a great position as soon as Earing got that ball before he even gave it to Uncle who delivered the perfect ball Lowe has fantastic positional sense made it look so simple tap in .love watching him .
Wonder if the ref was decent because he didnt have to deal with a 60 minute wrestling match with Jamma has Notts County passed it around. So nearly snatched defeat from a victory. Impressed with the display after Saturday and Bromley. Stirks header the highlight for me.
We had two great football brains working for that goal in Uncle Albert and Lowe (add Stirk and Earing for that matter)
Looked to me like someone gave them a good talking to ( to put it politely) at half time but seemed to do the trick .
Yes instead of Lakin if he carries on playing as he did tonight sorry but he’s the better player.
That’s 4.
Great win! My nerves were shattered tonight, was mighty glad to hear the final whistle.
Regarding George Hall, much better second half but I thought we had to carry him the first half. He has a touch of class about him though that shone through. Shout out for Lakin though, not as gifted as Hall but he put some hard yards in tonight, it is such a shame he doesn’t have an extra yard of pace.
That is a big win for us, I’m very happy tonight.
That might explain why Simkin’s weight was on his left foot and why there seemed to be a slight delay in him getting down and across to the shot.
Yeah he said something about not getting his feet sorted as a result.
Great nights entertainment all ducks in line for Saturday.
Stirks best game for us and my mom.
Special group who are up for it.
Can’t wait for Saturday.
Yeh Hall is a strange one. His work when we don’t have the ball isn’t the best, but he’s got really useful pace for when we counter, and an obvious eye for goal.
It’s also a peculiar position for him to play in - kinda central midfield with the tracking back responsibilities, but kinda inside forward encouraged to run in to channels for quick attacks. Really demanding from a fitness POV, so will hopefully see him improve as he gets minutes in his legs
It did touch a defender. I had all too good a view of it from the back of the Upper and as soon as the shot veered off course you could tell Simkin wouldn’t get near it.
Personally wouldn’t have given MOM to Hall - I thought Stirk and Lakin were immense, as was Williams, as was Okagbue. All 8/9s for me.
Hall took the goal well though and stretched the game 2nd half, which probably enabled us to get the win
I love the way Albert squared it to Lowe.
Most forwards at this level (and the level above) would’ve tried to score from that position, with a 50/50 chance of succeeding from the narrow angle. But by squaring it he took the keeper and nearest centre half out of the game. Still needed Lowe to have the intelligence to be in the right place, but still fantastic from Albert
No 2 Brains and 2 matter (grey)
On the way home in the car and this song comes on the radio.
The part where he sings drink alcohol until my friends come home for Xmas. The kids in the car were singing (and jumping around a bit) Dad will drink alcohol until Walsall win promotion. I dunno what they are on about regarding me drinking cos I rarely do these days but it had me in stitches, happy boys and it makes all the rubbish we’ve watched worthwhile. I might have a few if we actually do it though!
The Walsall.
I’m i the only one wondering what an inverted wing back is?
Glad its not just me
Its when the wingback cuts inside instead of outside
