I’m currently in Pelsall. That usually floods. Wonder whether it’s just the new pitch not bedded in completely.

I’m currently in Spain no chance of flooding here :+1:t2:

Was the rain really that bad in Walsall? - it rained heavily in Bilston but not bad enough to flood.
They didn’t just move the training pitch to bescot in the close season did they?

Not bothered the game was called off, not a match that needed to be played as we have Cheltenham for the last pre season game on Saturday.
They’ve had a month under the high standards of Matt Taylor so their fitness won’t be in question.
We do need another striker though, I hope we get one in before Tranmere.

Surrounding roads did have flood water but I wouldn’t I thought it warranted a pitch with a drainage system in place flooding , new pitch or not , may be a problem in those corners come what winter to hold water like that.we will see

Fair enough, I can see why tonight was called off, an immense amount of rain in such a short period of time.

Our pitch has regularly been prone to frost but has always seemed to hold up against heavy rain. Hope this new pitch is the same.

Strange to see so many grown people not understanding how pitches flood (whether newly laid or not) and how no football club can control the weather.

Just saw a comment from an Albion fan saying we should have delayed kick off until 8 and get rid of the water by that time

Don’t know.

I seem to remember a Tuesday night game getting called off probably 3-4 seasons ago.

We’d driven up from MK and had literally parked in the train station car park about an hour before kickoff, got out the car and a few people returning to their cars said it was off. So I don’t have much sympathy for the Baggies on Twitter moaning they’ve had to travel from just the other side of the M6.

I think on that occasion though it had been raining heavily for a few days with an almighty downpour on the day of the game.

That’s why there from SmeTwHICK.
