Think he’ll go very defensive Sunday and try to keep it .2 or less .cant see our defence not conceding a couple ..I think our best chance Sunday would be to take the game to them .but that ain’t Sadler is it .
What do you mean by that? Walsall were top scorers in the division.
I’ve panned the club recently but of course they are going on the charm offensive. What else can they do? Not gonna be posting about us being shit for months are they.
We don’t have to paste them now their time is coming. And rightly so.
(ask me again at 5 30 on Sunday)
Bus will be parked. He’ll take a 1 nil defeat. It’s damage limitation first leg I’ve no doubt.
Adomah as a striker even though he’s now 37 and has never played there all his career.Absolutely baffling.
The OneValeFan forum is comparable to ours. One of the best unofficial club websites around IMO.
We’ve got “agent Grigg” in their camp that’s my source of optimism…. Then I remember they’ve got “agent Amantchi” in ours
Since January 23 games halfway mark 32 goals scored 34 goal conceded that’s the team we are now look at the form table .we’re simply not that team we were in the first half of the season 43. Goals scored 20 GA .
Don’t lump on wilts.
Our play-off record is either win them or get beaten out of sight in the semis. I expect that trend to continue, but I don’t know which one of the two it will be.
And all the cardinals whore red and white that’s so freaky YOU REDS
No I don’t. Im not being negative, Im being realistic, basing my thoughts around our form of the last few months and the way the team has been managed.
There is not a shred of evidence to suggest otherwise.
And it’s not just team selection and tactics but now more so psychological.
2 reasons, firstly confidence must be so low but mainly the mindset in the camp, demonstrated by Sadler and then members of his squad and management team. My feeling is that Sadler already thinks mission accomplished by getting in the playoffs in the 1st place, not lets go and win it. If the mentality is wrong, it’s a massive problem.
Ok, but you said
If you don’t think we are currently good enough to take the game to them, that is a different point to whether Sadler is willing to do so.
Besides we almost certainly know how the game will play out in terms of each side’s approach. Chesterfield will try and build from the back and Walsall will press.
Still loads of availability for the home game.
There will be even more when the seats of season ticket holders who haven’t reserved become available.
With the small away allocations I think we’ll have around 9,500 home seats to sell. If we’re two or more down after Sunday, we’ll struggle to shift 6,500 (home fans)If it’s level or either side has a slender lead it might get to 8;000 (home fans) but struggling to see a sell out scenario.
If we have a chance of going through then i expect a lot will sell next week
Friday night 8pm doesnt help though and not very attractive for the kids to want to come
If we still have a chance after Sunday (not sure we will) then I’m sure the Friday evening KO won’t be a problem for kids at all (unless very young of course) - I imagine many of them will love the thought of a Friday footy game at 8.00pm with a chance of a visit to Wembley…
If Sadler is clever, he will invoke Sir Alf Ramsey. When Germany scored in the last minute to deny England victory in the 1966 WC Final, he told the players: “You’ve nearly won it once, go out and make sure in extra time”! That’s what Sadler has to say to the players now: “You were 30 seconds from promotion, go out and finish the job (and practice penalties!)”
A truly depressing, yet well balanced and written review of the season to date…
I see a flaw in your plan …
I’m minded to agree. We all know that anything can happen but in reality, if we bow out having put up a decent show at home and lose by 2 goals or less then that is all I hope to expect at the moment.
Of course we are all looking to confound the odds and expectations but I would predict a 3-1 loss away and a 1-1 draw at home.
Perhaps our luck will change, but it really needs to. Sneak an early away goal and that gives us a fighting chance.
