He is too old anyway like my first choice Barrett.
I don’t think it has ever been said by anyone at the club that Williams’ mind is elsewhere. That is just an assumption made by some posters to justify Sadler’s decision to leave him out of the first team squad. Perhaps it is natural to look for rational explanations for seemingly irrational decisions.
If the rumour is true that he has decided to go to a team in Scotland, that does not mean that his attitude has changed or that he is showing a lack of commitment on the pitch. While our defence has deteriorated recently, I don’t think that Williams has been the player most at fault, far from it.
So basically just a rumour then
I would say player of the season is Priestly or Josh. Both can’t be blamed for our recent down turn and have been consistent all season and that needs to be acknowledged. Young player I would suggest goes to Dylan Thomas.
He was out with a knee injury and probably not fit enough to even be on the bench, but we were a bit light at the back. But now DD is back, Allen is potentialy PotS, McEntee is Sadler’s second choice as captain (after Jamma), and Weir has shown he’s worth at least a place on the bench. His only hope is as back up to Dave (even then behind DD), but he’s not done enough wrong to be dropped (at least in MS’s eyes), and we’re not going to name 6 CBs in the squad.
Harry played well in the centre but then temporarily dropped out and can’t force his way back in. There doesn’t have to be any other reason than that.
I’m not saying HW was in great form before he was injured but I’d say one good reason is we are conceding too many goals. Whether HW is the answer or not, I don’t know but you can’t really say the current choices are working that well.
True, and I certainly woudn’t mind seeing him back in between Dave and Allen - but it was this “yet another rumour” malarkey I was on about (no doubt @cookyskid will agree).
Player X gets picked over player Y (who happens to be someone’s favourite) and there has to be skulduggery at play.
Or just crap management.
Taylor Allen & Nathan Lowe ( we coud kidnap him when he comes for his award )
Taylor Allen - not only has been a consistent performer all season and a creative outlet for us, he has done so whilst dealing with some tough personal circumstances in his family life.
When people get dropped completely out of the blue, and other players play despite playing shit, people will try to guess why that possibly might be.
That is pretty piss poor selection then if there is “no other reason than that”.
Dropped out, not dropped per se - or are you carrying on with the bizarre claim you’ve made before that injured = droppped?
He had a problem with his knee, carried on until he couldn’t, then had a few games out on the physio’s bench. He did then come back into contention, but during his absence Dave moved across, McEntee came back, and then so did DD (both of whom were above him in the pecking order at the start of the season - as was PF) so he’s struggled to get his place back - more so since, as Sadler has said, he’s really only effective in the middle of a 3 and nowhere else (unlike the other CB choices we have).
He did have some very good games whilst he was an automatic choice but (along with just about every other player in the squad) he dropped off from January - for my money, specifically since away at Bradford.
If we’re going to ascribe his drop in form to him potentially signing a pre-contract then a) he’s obviously not very professional (a red flag to his prospective signers?), b) was it as early as January since he has played quite a few more games after then? c) has every other player signed one too then???
Or he had a bad knee, had to drop out, can’t force his way back in.
Not going to get into one your trademark wars of attrition (aka borefest ) so off you go to have the last word and feel all smug about it (to be honest I’m annoyed with myself for even giving you the oxygen of replying to start with
).
I don’t know and it’s only a guess but perhaps the knee injury may require an op in the close season and the club don’t want to aggravate it as they have player options .we just don’t know all will be eventually revealed I guess .
wtf are you talking about? Are you continuing with the bizarre claim that not being selected means you aren’t dropped … oh wait, you actually are.
And both have been dreadful. Hence why it’s piss poor selection.
As for the rest of your post, it’s just you choosing which rumours you want to believe, because you can’t accept any criticism of the club or manager, regardless of how valid
Always love this “here’s a big long essay of me disagreeing with you, that you’re gonna have the nerve to respond to”. Pathetic.
If Harry is injured then Saddler could do himself a favour by telling us this, same goes for if his attitude has changed because of interest from other clubs. Harry was superb in that defence that kept how many clean sheets? and won 9 on the bounce and there is no way if hes fit that he shouldnt be in the back 3, but Saddler has said publicly that the only reason hes not playing is because of the depth of the squad.
Smacks of last season when we went on the good run and he dropped the Norwich lad for DD.
Player of the season has to be Taylor Allen, im pretty sure his performances and stats will guarantee he will be playing at a higher level next season, unfortunately i can’t see us doing so.
Yeah, but he decided to play Dave there, and that’s all that matters ok? Ignore the form he’s in at the moment.
Allen (Left) Williams (Centre) McEntee (right) every time if they are fit is what I think.
Sadler seems to love Big Dave, the fact that Daniels is now in front of Williams is really baffling.
Captain
Big Dave a better defender than mcentee. Have we even kept a clean sheet with mcentee at the back? Hes all over the place when balls come in long. Dave isnt great but mcentee absolutely shocking at defending.
Mcentee is a myth.
Coming from Newcastle elevated his worth
I’d argue he’s been poorly coached and gone backwards
Looks like he is running in sand while the rest are on grass
