Port Vale (H) April 5th, 12.30pm kick off

I’m not expecting any changes (unless injuries) even though some are calling for Stirk to be dropped. But as Hall, Harrison, Josh Gordon and Wheatley are all likely to be available, it means Sadler has difficult decisions to make.

Who do you select on the bench from:
Simkin, Daniels, Barrett, Lakin, Comley, Adomah, DJ
Hall, Harrison, J Gordon, Wheatly, Williams, Chang.

I can see him leaving out Lakin in preference for Hall, but how do you get Harrison or Wheatly on the bench as you can’t leave out DJ.

Harrison will start if he is fit, I think.

That doesn’t solve who makes way.

Don’t be surprised if he left DJ out altogether though.

A classic 6 of one and half a dozen of the other etc

In fairness, hindsight can put everything into a slightly different perspective - the point I was really making (perhaps not well) is that we seem to be performing a bit better in the last few games and whilst the elusive wins we need are still evading us, we are better than we were (relatively speaking…)

I think we have played quite well in recent away games but have been poor at home. Even against Wimbledon, we weren’t great.

Strange really, because before the Swindon game I was banking on the home games getting us over the line. Still might yet though. 3 home wins would probably do it.

Looks like the lower and middle tiers will be sold out fairly soon. :+1:

I have a huge amount of sympathy for young Ethan Wheatley, came with a huge reputation from Man U. Who can forget his comments when he joined us, very haunting now…

“It is my first loan so I am very excited to get going,” Wheatley told Walsall’s club website. "The club is currently top of the league so I am coming into a winning environment and I am looking forward to that and hopefully we can kick on for the rest of the season and I can help the team to do good things.

“I had interest from other places but they didn’t have as many games left in the season and a big thing for me is earning game time and trying to play as much as possible in the men’s game and hopefully I can do that and stamp my mark and impress.”

Still loads in the upper, I sit there and the view is great if you like to see play build up. Always surprised no-one seems to bother with it, unless it’s a kids day

Eticketing site sometimes is abit misleading.

Last week the block i sit in the upper had just a single seat left available, but come 3 o’clock, the entire row behind me was empty.

Happens every time

Last week was also strange, they put out a tweet saying only 300 tickets left.

There was way more than that.

Tbf, given the away end holds a further 800 that Wimbledon didn’t fill, plus the supposed 300 the club mentioned that would have took us up to just over 10.5k and with segregation, that probably makes the figure about right

Stop panicking folks…we will beat our friends from Burslem…we always seem too, don’t matter how shite we’ve been( not that we’re shite now btw ).

I reckon there were probably a fair few families who didn’t turn up after buying the ticket offer last week. Might be different with people paying full whack this weekend.

Tricky one to forecast however we are playing better so I will go 1-0 to the Saddlers.

Season Ticket Holders don’t necessarily attend every game. Even the big games - so there will always be empty seats. We’re not quite at the Liverpool or Man Utd stage of tracking unattending season ticket holders and punishing them. I know season ticket holder at other clubs who see their purchase as a “donation” rather than any intent to attend all or even the majority of games.

Anyway - lower should be sold out going into tomorrow which is lovely. The upper upper will then start to really shift too. I’d be surprised if there was much walk up availability for the Poundland going into Saturday. But nobody will miss out as we won’t sell the whole gaff out. Which is a shame for such a big ‘un.

We’ll win 3-1

Just purchased my ticket.

Biggest game in years. We cannot lose under any circumstances.

I’d probably take a draw now - but I’ve got a sneaky feeling we’re going to win this.

A tight 1-0 victory in front of 9203. This could be a proper arse clencher of a game.

Coming down with my daughter for this and can’t wait. Going to park in Wednesbury and take a walk over the railway / under the motorway. Going to have a little look around the estate I grew up on and show my daughter where her Dad’s from. We’re gonna win 3-1 :muscle:

Get well soon mate

Chang stood out in the championship looking good and looked a class above in the 10 minutes he played for us. If we could get 60 minutes from him and he is fit then why not go for it?
To write Wheatley off after 2 games is very harsh. He joined as we entered a very bad spell. Might be more than meets the eye with him and could be an attitude thing but I’m disapointed he hasn’t had more chances recently. However I’ll back Sadler on this one.

I wasn’t writing anyone off mate, I was just saying there is no chance Sadler is putting any of them in on Saturday. I doubt either will even make the bench.

Going on what I have seen from Asiimwe and how good he has been and the fact it took Barrett being suspended for him to get a look in, I’m not sure I trust Sadler’s judgement that much.

It is what it is though, all I/we can do really is get behind the team now and hope we do enough.
