Port Vale (H) April 5th, 12.30pm kick off

The most sickening thing is, I never once thought “Yep, I think we’re going up”
If anyone uses the word “bottle” in sporting terms for any other situation, they will look at this and think again.

This, all day long. What was the point in signing these players in January?

Terrible management.

2 wins in 16, fans can’t keep giving and getting nothing in return.

Sadlers post game presser will be revealing (not!)

Think Flynn won 20 points from 1st Jan until he was sacked.

Since 1st Jan this year, we’ve won 22 points

Yet you we’re abusing me last week lol
Interesting

Why are we a team that completely depends on loan players! Was Flynn in charge for so long because of Bennett and DJ? Is saddler in so long because of lowe?
I think we play a lot of hoofs because of Matt upfront too! Matt is more like a holding midfielder. Where has the football gone

2nd best today. Out fought and out thought. Can’t believe we have bottled it. Please not the play offs. Timid and predictable. We can still make it or is that s forlorn hope. Too many players just run into the ground. Poor January window. Sat on our laurels instead of going for it. I have tried to stay positive . We now need a minor miracle. All we can do is hope.

Gutted. The nature of that performance and the gulf between us and Vale in quality, application and composure feels like it could be us done for the season.

That second half was as lifeless as it gets, and it was nothing more than a mess for the last 15 minutes. If Darren Moore didn’t take off Stockley it probably would’ve been 4/5-2 by the end.

The only ‘positive’ is that now we’re part of the chasing pack it could lift some of the pressure of the players and free us up a bit. Just can’t see us getting up to 80/81 points as it stands.

Woeful performance from us. We had nothing.

We can’t hoof we can’t pass we can’t defend.

We have blown it.

We didn’t give up, every team is a hard match, they have a brilliant manager bla bla bla it’s fair to say we all know what Matt is gonna say

If Trivela think that blowing it this year will have been down to bad luck and so we start next season with Sadler and pretty much the same bunch then we are mid table nothingness AT BEST.
UP THE SADDLERS

What’s really astonishing is that this isn’t the first time the 2nd half of the season has been really poor in recent times.

There’s some fundamental, structural issues with the way we approach seasons and manage them mid way through.

To have 3 seasons in a row with such long winless runs is quite worrying to me. Do we identify issues? Can we react to changing situations?

On recent evidence, no.

Unfortunately only 1 team looked like s promotion outfit. Confident on the ball, movement and passing to a team mate, everything i wish we were but instead we gave a totally shambolic performance.
Sadler has cocked this up big time and just dont see anyway back for this team.

We may very well not win another game. They just don’t know how anymore.

For all the motivational comments from the CEO and the owners - Id like to say that it’s hard being a paying fan and having to be subject to this week in week out…

Yea the first half of the season was great but it means absolutely jack s*** when it fails miserably like this…

An average season of nothingness leaves me feeling normal as a Saddler - you get numb to it but this is so hard to take…

Agree with this - 8 points blown deffo!!
All we had to do was be a little rubbish and we would still go up. How Trivela act when the season is over will be signal of how ambitious they really are.
UP THE SADDLERS

Nothing would give me greater pleasure than for us to win the next 3 matches and prove me wrong, but I just can’t see it

Difficult to describe the level of disappointment.

We just aren’t good enough . We could have got away with it with the lead we had if Sadler had managed it better but he hasn’t . We’ve blown it .

Jellis has been poor for weeks and today finally descended to diabolical today . But still he plays as first choice .

Okagbue is one of the poorest centre half’s we’ve had for years and today he was brutally exposed .

Liam Gordon I’ve got a lot of time for , but today he bottled it big time .

Jamille Matt should be a wrestler not a footballer - he does NOT hold the ball up . Levi has shown what a target man should do - why have we insisted on lumping to Matt who rarely wins it ???

Will be a brutal experience in the play offs

Someone walked down the reception lobby with Pomlett, Wheatley and Matt in attendance singing “we’re flipping shite, we’re flipping shite etc etc”. Not sure it’s particularly helpful but not sure how it’s all come to this. So depressing.
