David Kelly would currently only get on for the last few minutes.
Exciting first 45 but second half was simply dreadful. The way we play hoof hoof hoof is down to Sadler.
Sorry chaps. The players are not good enough and the manager hasnt got a clue.
Sadler Out.
Apart from that good to meet @JoaquinErnesto and @saddlerken
Sadler has completely lost the dressing room for sure
Every game now is pretty much must win.
Tough to put into words anything to summarise todays game.
We’ve been saying this for the last month …
Crazy how I’m not the one who spreads personal abuse though to other forum users eh
And I’m allowed an opinion and I was unfortunately right and it’s ok to be sad at that x
Wheatley was poor didn’t offer anything what a crazy first half , second half vale did what they needed to do , I believe in current form season is over , we will be lucky to make the playoffs definitely won’t be going up automatically
The frightening thing was the scale of the drop off in performance and decision making in game, they started really well for 15 or so minutes and then switched to inept.
The first 25 minutes of the second half was lethargic, plodding and aimless play from us, and so many players not having the ability to complete a pass.
Very dejected. It’s not over but we have lost first and second place now.
Edit, sacking off football for the rest of the weekend, not having this hover over the rest of my Saturday and Sunday like some misery cloud.
I’ve had an hour to digest that utter shambles.
To go 2-1 up and play like that for the next half an hour is nothing short of criminal.
Why Vale didn’t go for more I’ll never know as we were totally there for the taking.
This has all been coming for months and it’s all down to one man and his stubbornness and naivety.
Gutted this afternoon but not surprised.
That team would annihilate this team - my goodness it would be a massacre!!
UP THE SADDLERS
Sadly, I agree, we are plummeting towards the play offs in which we will just ne making up the numbers.
I renewed my ST on Thursday, will stick with that decision, however I will want to see some drastic changes when what is beginning to look like the inevitable happens.
I suspect Vale didn’t go for more because they didn’t feel it was requirement…save the energy.
This post lacks positivity
Wonder how the darts with the players and staff will go now?
Hope it’s still fun for the kids
Absolutely gutted but Sadler and the squad get my backing until the very final whistle of the season then i will pick the bones out of the season. But no way am i throwing the towel like some these so called Walsall.
Today the trolls will have there day and i hope they enjoy themselves thriving from our loss.
And he was absolutely dire today! He needs a rest.
Very poor performance today. Poor Vale were much the better team and I fear we are going to miss out which will be devastating for the players, the management and especially us fans especially old codgers like me who may never see us higher up the Leagues.
Why has this happened? There are a number of factors in my view …loss of form by key players being one them , injuries to experienced defenders which has meant a long season for very young and inexperienced defenders being another. The mental challenge of being top for so long could also be a factor.
Can we recover and win a match or two.? Maybe, we have been better away than at home over the past few weeks but I am not optimistic.
Spot on
The first twenty minutes we were ok (ish) but that was a very hard match to watch.
Throughout the game we couldn’t win anything in the air, couldn’t keep hold of the ball, couldn’t string two passes together and we were made to look second best against vale.
The position we now find ourselves in is entirely down to being poor for weeks and weeks.
I always try to be positive about things and perhaps this is an emotional moment for me but I can’t see where we can possibly win a game from over the coming weeks.
We scrapped a last minute equaliser Tuesday night and it was the same against Wimbledon but you can’t keep getting away with it and today reality finally caught up with us.
In all the years I’ve supported Walsall this moment feels worse than any I can remember, we had a huge lead and slowly but surely have thown it away with performances that can best be described as shite.
