We’ve not had a way to control games all season. We never looked in control today and in the heat it caught up with us. The run of games. The pressure. The poor management.
It …
Wasn’t a problem when we had Lowe
Wasn’t a problem when we were “fresh”
Wasn’t a problem when we all pulled in the same direction
Wasn’t a problem when teams hadn’t figured out plan A
But we haven’t got Lowe and made a poor fist of replacing him
When we had a chance to freshen we failed in January. Then the manager failed to use the likes of Asimwe or Chang
The pulling in the same direction I think “contacts” and odd team selections dropping Harry, dropping Simpkin, today Lakin has upset the AppleCart. But it’s ok Sadler is under contract.
Plan A is figured out now. There are no signs of a plan B and it’s too late for plan B now anyway.
I’m not even gutted about today. I’m more amused by the fact it’s took till now for the penny to drop for some people.
It’s still something we can do, but I full expect us to just fizzle out in the play offs.
For now I’ll enjoy a beer in the Sun and I won’t say I told you so to anyone else. The disappointment of realising what Sadler and Trivela have allowed to happen needs to sink in
Would have preferred Comley to Stirk, or Lakin or start with Hall.
If Levi either scores that lobbed shot or squares it to Jellis I’d of expected a 4-1 Win today.
Sadler won’t get sacked, but should we win the next few games it would paper over the cracks in his management.
If we go up then I’d expect a new manager by Jan 26 and us fighting for survival adrift in relegation or Sadler gets poached out the club and we finish mid table.
I’m not an optimist by any means, BUT …if we somehow come out of this afternoon with our destiny in our own hands as seems likely at the moment then we’ve just got to win next week and take it from there. That is the last chance saloon really, not today.
I know that seems like an impossibility the way most people are feeling, but it absolutely isn’t.
Get that one win, shift the momentum then on to two huge home games for some redemption either side of Newport. Its still entirely doable.
Very bad day we were crap. I was ill and thanks to the lads at back of block three for swapping seats so I could use the wall to stop me losing my balance. When I finally got to Brockhurst Crescent one car had parked on my rear bumper and another on the front one. Bloody morons totally penned in. Good job I was feeling rough or fisticuffs may have ensued. I would have probably lost that one as well. Even though the bloke in front gave me a weak smile and got in his car sharpish.Honestly I’m not a bad loser.
@Belphegor did not expect a result today at any point.
I was half impressed with the Donny point on paper but it was winnable. Wimbledon winnable.
I’ve made peace with not going up. 2 wins in 15
Only one team in the top ten has a worse defence than us … thst ain’t a good sign.
But the Drogs are flying. Sounds like the going full time and focus on Europe has worked for them. Eye was off the ball at Bescot. This is what you get.
@FPSad bloody hot in the lower tier if you’re not at 100% !
I’m very down at the moment but I am trying to put things into perspective.
We are still in the mix .
We knew this 3 game run was going to be tough.
It has to be different emotionally - especially with young players - trying not to.lose because you are sitting at the top , rather than going all out in trying to get there .
Im hoping to see more of our early season form from now on .
We also probably have the easiest run in .
Vale have to play Grimsby & Wimbledon. ( away)
Bradford have to play Notts Co & Donny
Donny have to play Wimbledon, Bradford & Notts Co
Wimbledon have to play Donny , Vale & Grimsby
Notts Co have to play Bradfird & Donny
I’m assuming we had then watched so they rely on winning first and second balls around the box , so why oh why didn’t we have a plan to stop ball’s coming into the box and then pick up anything loose
Basic defending
Basic tactics
This cost us the first 2 goals
Oh for a commanding centre half or 2
