Those two goals before half time felt like physical blows. Not only the goals but the manner in which we conceded. We’d watched the scenario for the second goal from the throw-in four times before, once leading to a goal and yet we still made the same mistake. And their third was a calamity.
Suddenly, the Bens “get behind the lads” fell completely flat. We’d all given it a right go and the fans were ace until those two goals. But how can you “get behind the lads” when the “lads” in question can’t get behind themselves? How can we believe when they so obviously don’t? With no leaders on the pitch (that finishing eleven yesterday was a shambles) you can’t in all seriousness ask your “12th man” to be the missing link when the eleven men are so bereft of leadership, belief and craft. By definition we can only be the 12th man if there are eleven men ahead of us. There aren’t.
Doncaster have to play Bradford, so it is still in our hands. I’d take our remaining fixtures over any of the other sides. I’m still very positive. The one blot on the horizon is it seems assumed that Accrington have nothing to play for. Let’s hope so, but they are not safe from relegation yet.
You were there pal so I can’t comment but if that’s true - someone in a senior position needs to pull Sadler to one side and remind him what’s at stake here
I don’t care about MS ego and rampant favouritisms - this situation needs a change in plan and clearly MS doesn’t understand what that looks like - BS or BB needs to act otherwise we’ll take a long time to recover from this mess…
The CEO should remember that this debacle doesn’t look good on anyone’s CV and as a young and I’m sure, ambitious guy, he should bear that in mind….
None of the teams are on the beach as folk like to state - this division has a habit of biting you on the arse and none of our remaining games are a given…
On current form, any team in the division can beat us - thats why I’m posting in other threads that someone has to get a grip of the situation and fast…
Tbf Taylor Allen was probably MoM on Tuesday in midfield and scored. Lakin has struggled recently. Personally, I’d have liked to see Chang given the chance to challenge Lakin for that spot over these past few weeks.
I think we can make a case like that many in all fairness. Big Dave for Williams maybe or DD? Jamma who’s done zilch ? Even Hornby for Simkin, I can’t see any improvement there either.
It’s all opinions mate but for me Stirk is one of the few that does have composure on the ball and can make us tick .
He’s maybe been patchy of late but I still think he does that role better than anyone else .
For me , Lakin in the 8 had started to resemble a dog chasing his tail . Just running around and very wasteful with the ball . His style seemed to suit us earlier in the season when the whole team were brim full of energy and were winning the ball back quickly but I think Sadler is realising - far too late - that our lack of time on the ball and quality with it is now killing us , especially with better pitches . Hence Taylor Allen as left mid , Weir playing more , trying to play through Hall on the floor at times in the last two home games . But we are so used to the Hoof we’re just stuck .
Have read the near 800 comments on this thread and putting them all together I think I’ve manged to condence them down to a single phrase which is “for f$#@% sake, someboby, do something”
