I think the game and the way it is now being coached in terms of trying to nick any competitive advantage by whatever means has moved ahead of the competence and tools of referees.

Yeah. Teams have always tried to pull the wool over the ref’s eyes. It’s always been in the game. But it seems now some might be targeting it, pulling specific bits of wool over specific eyes, at specific times. I’d suspected it first with shirt-pulling. Going back at least as far as Draper, some teams seemed to realise some refs just didn’t recognise it as a foul any more.
That was the worst I’ve ever seen today.

He lost control and was an absolute shambles. Genuinely they should be allowed to drag refs off during a match and replace them with the fourth official when someone displays such levels of incompetence.
Ruined the flow of the game, inconsistent and at the end he cost us the chance to win it by stopping us building up a head of steam. Tackling Lowe was just the icing on the cake

Appalling ref. Consistently conned by players diving/feigning injury. He was right to stop play after the Matt collision but when he did so after Tommy clearly made no contact with their forward in the second half it was laughable.
Also why did he he only add on an extra 60 secs, despite there being a scrap and the incident involving the managers which took at least another 3 mins out of the game?

Shocking, and it’s not good enough. Even though it’s league two, it’s full of full time professional clubs that generate millions of pounds a year in revenue and watched by 1000’s weekly. The standard of refereeing just isn’t up to it.
Football club staff and management must be pig sick of this every other week.
