I too think Amantchi had real promise. He could be a very good signing in the 4th division.

I think somebody heard that one of our centre-backs had signed pre-contract terms with a Scottish club and put two-and-two together and got Williams, instead of McEntee. I hope Williams stays: he was one of our best players last season, along with Allen, Jellis, Liam G, Barrett and Lowe. Sorry to see DJ leaving after he was treated really badly by Sadler - Sadler should be sacked solely for his treatment of DJ. I’ll never understand why a manager would not use one of his best assets, one who could score the goals to deliver promotion and potentially save his job!! It’s the sign of a poor manager that can’t get the best out of staff members he might not always find easy to deal with!!

The question of why Williams was axed from the squad for weeks (at an important time of the season) is one that needs answering.

I don’t know, this is supposition, but if he was leaving is there not some sense in giving game time to other defenders?
Not saying it’s the right thing to do if it risks promotion, just thinking of possible reasons.
Possibly if he was going would there be a logic to not playing him to avoid him getting injured and risk losing a transfer fee?
I agree it needs answers.

By showing some intent by releasing the dead wood in the squad, leaving room for better players to come in. If we’re keeping Matt, then we won’t be signing the likes of Harry Smith! I want desperately for us to bring in some better players, but keeping the likes of Matt, Comley, Josh Gordon and DJT stops us doing that.

He got left out initially cus he had a knee injury. Can’t remember what game that was, but I assume that by the time he was fully fit Sadler had decided to keep using McEntee who was back from his own injury.
Is McGoldrick going to join the Sadlers, to team up with Matt and Uncs to form the oldest League forward line ever?!!

It was Chesterfield in February. Sadler told the E and S that Williams was in contention to play at Morecambe the following week, and he also told them his exclusion in March/April was nothing to do with injury, but a matter of having better options at his disposal.

Equal to/better than Freddie’s effort for them. Not saying he’s suddenly a goal machine but who knows.
Could’ve said the same this time last year based on hi form here in 23/4 season. Again who knows he may come back fully rejuvenated again (up to January anyway).
Or based on last season 2 in 11 means about 8/10 for the full season. Again who knows, he’ll never be prolific but has shown he’s capable of double figures.
Looks to be about 1 in4/5 so possibbly8/10 per season.
All depends on who else we sign and whether DJT and Jamma actually accept the offers.
This was aimed at the “they’ll only get 10 between them” claim.

Personally if he wanted Osh in the side I’d have put Dave on the bench rather than Harry.
