Released and Retained list

I really rated Farquharson and thought he was a great signing at the time. To offer him a contract now is absolutely batshit insane though. He can’t play.

Same with Matt, unfortunately.

As for DJT … begs belief.

Just terrible decisions.

Makes no difference, we’d always offer a contract if he was leaving, so we get a fee for him.

When he’s older than a teenager and actuallly had a chance in the team?

Not wrong is he. Terrible mismanagement.

Not filling me with confidence I must be honest.
Taylor and Harry Williams are the only ones I’d really like us to do everything we could to keep.

Feel gutted for DJ, if he was 6’2 he’d have played every minute for us

Are we keeping DJT to send him to Drogheda again? Barmy decision let him go there on a permanent.

Farq is a questionable one, but he’d have to be on significantly lower terms. It would be a shame to have invested so much time and resources into his rehab to them see him flourish at another league 2 club. No more than a 1 year deal I’d be ok with I guess.

Earing is a tidy player but too injury prone and Daniels has been an excellent pro but again I think his best years are over and we need to move on.

Jamma I’d imagine will be a good player to have around the squad and if he’s used as more of an impact sub or to help defend set pieces etc then I’d be ok with that.

I’m happy we can put the DJ saga to bed now and wish him well in the future. He deserves to be playing regular league football. People saying he’s a bad egg etc, I personally struggle to buy into that frankly.

It’s feasible that a striker is gonna be unhappy not playing and being brought on for 2 minutes every game or not at all in some cases. Wouldn’t any striker be unhappy with that? It’s baffling that he started that one game against Wimbledon and then back to being on the bench.

Surely if he was that disruptive or not performing he could’ve been loaned out in Jan? Either way you look at it, the whole situation regards to him and our strikers has been handled awfully.

Wish him all the best and look forward to him scoring past us next season!

Oh and Mcentee going is a good thing imo, not been impressed with him at all this season and lacks any kind of composure needed.

Id just assume all the players were offering contracts to will fall through.

Massive sympathy for DJ, 8 goals this year and one start.

Expect Matt is to be considered for a player/coach role so will barely play next season - similar to what sadler was on himself few years ago

Fair play DJ calling out Sadler on his post, given a chance we would have went up. We should have built the second half of the season around him which would have seen it out.

Priestly odd one. Got to be a pay as you play

This club piss me off massively.

DJT being offered a new contract but DJ being surplus to requirements is the most Mat Sadler thing I’ve ever seen.

Agree with all that. Those were the three that stood out and I just don’t see the sense in. Crazy.
But, I guess they may not agree the contract offered and be off, although I don’t see them getting better elsewhere so will probably stick around.

Sit tight Taylor, better offers will come.
Cardiff don’t have a manager so how can a player know whether they’re going to fit in.

Wait for a £400k offer from Stockport.

Pretty honest and not really pulling any punches.
Can’t blame him tbh.
He showed what he can do, even in the last 10 mins of a game, yet we still didn’t utilise it properly when really needed. Ridiculous

Your first paragraph applies to your second paragraph, and I’d argue we’ve invested more time into Earing than PF. Personally I wouldn’t have offered deals to either of them, due to there unfortunate injury records.

To offer one over the other is just bizarre.

Christ I hate pre-season.

Went out on loan and scored 13 in 19.

Even if we offered him a contract, it covers us if any other team wants to come in for him and they would have to pay a fee.

Can’t see this being true, he got 16 goal involvements is a ball playing CB and he’s left footed.

He’s worth double that minimum

So if Sadler gets his way it looks as though our strikeforce next season will be - Matt, Amantchi, DJT and Gordon (+ another if we are lucky). If that doesn’t strike fear into League 2 defences I don’t know what will…:grinning_face::grinning_face::grinning_face::grinning_face:

So we are going to be lumping long balls up to an exhausted and aged Jamma for another season then ! So glad I didn’t renew our season tickets

This retain list also puts to bed whether Sadler will be manager or not going forward !
