Id just assume Drog would have him if he’s played so well for them. Id be fuming if I was one of their fans and they didn’t sign him.

No real shocks tbh contract offers for some will be rejected as I imagine they might be at a lower rate or contract length to be accepted, especially if we desire to bring in better quality and hence will represent reduced playing time.
No convinced we need Hornby or DJT eating into the budget either.
I’m a fan of the Preist but not his injury record so the rumour that the offer is on reduced terms needs to be true.
Would offer Allen improved contract but would probably let Jellis go for the right fee if he wants to move south
Who leaves isn’t as important as who comes in and hopefully losing a couple of big wages from players who didn’t contribute last season will facilitate some quality down the spine of the team

The one we all knew was going to happen DJ gone, most fans loved him and wanted him playing every game.From his message to us the fans you can read into why we have seen so little of him. To pick uncle Albert in front of a natural goalscorer was the crime of the season for me. I like Jamma but think his time is done here, never been prolific for us and just gives foul after foul away, maybe he could be offered a defending position in place of Priestley Farquharson who is just made of glass.
Earing was a good footballer but sadly he is exactly the same as above.
Don’t think we can afford any passengers this coming season, everyone is going to be needed.
Not surprised about DD or overly bothered as when he’s got back in the team has looked half the player he was when first signed.
I’m a little disappointed with Oisin McEntee not staying as I thought there could be a decent player there.
Uncle Albert should be offered a new deal as he looks as fit as any of our players we have, and should be used for his quality in crosses, not wasted as a striker.
Liam Gordon should be offered a new deal as he has something about him, just needs to work on that final ball.
Harry would of probably been on the move if it wasn’t for his Wembley injury. I hope it’s not too serious and we can keep him on a new improved deal.
Likewise for Taylor Allen, we have got to hold onto our best players, but more importantly we need to add even better quality for us to get out of this league next season with absolutely no excuses.
We know all clubs use the loan players to boost their squads, just make sure we don’t get loan strikers that are our best players, just to get called back Christmas and our season just turns to crap AGAIN.

Very surprised at contract talks with Farquharson , Matt and DJT. The rest as expected.. Disappointing that only one player from Youth team offered a deal.
If Allen is sold it should be £500, 000 minimum.

I’m shocked at The Priest being offered a new contract. He is a top centre back at this level but is far too injury prone! I know this is potentially controversial but I am personally happy to see Liam Gordon offered a new deal. Jamma - I’m going to probably get slated here, but I have no qualms in giving him another year but only if he used mainly off the bench. Get someone like Harry Smith leading the line. I would rather bring Jamma off the bench for his presence in both boxes than Josh Gordon or Levi.

Only 1 year left on his contract and never played above league 2. Unless there is a bidding war we will have done well to get 250k. We almost got Draper for the same money

As much as I love Taylor Allen and he has to be admired at how he has reinvented himself over the past two seasons, I have to agree regarding the potential fee. I would love to see him stay, but careers are short and if his speech at the end of season awards is anything to go by, he will want the challenge at playing at as higher level possible.
Should we get £250-300k I think we will have done well for a player most (myself included) would not have batted an eyelid had he been released this time two years ago, and with one good FL season under his belt.

Will be amazed if all those offered deals will sign.
Gordon will be off, Williams will be gone unless his injury is a bad one. Maher is in a tricky spot. Where does he fit in with Sadlers system? But probably hasn’t done enough to get much choice of league clubs to move to.
Hopefully we have offered a new 3 year deal to Allen on good money.

I don’t see too many shocks in the list in all honesty. I can’t imagine PF has been offered anywhere near what he’s currently on, possibly an incentivised offer based on appearances which would be the sensible approach. The thought process would have been to weigh up what PF and DD can contribute and decide on who can offer more
JM is another who I’d imagine would be on less. Providing the terms are right for the club, and the intention is to use them sparingly then it’s fine

Don’t think that’s controversial at all. Every non Walsall fan I know who has seen him play thinks he’s fantastic.
I think he’s been a great player for us, scored some key goals, seems to love playing for the club and we could do a lot worse.

With respect, unless we change manager, there is nothing to suggest Matt will be used sparingly. I have nothing against him at all and don’t blame him in any way. But persisting with him for so long, quite literally, cost us promotion in my opinion.
I have a feeling we may get Draper this time around, but I’m not sure that will be enough on it’s own with the forwards we have.

Don’t they also have to come through our youth system? So we’d get compo for Maher but not the others?
I think we would get something, just reduced as we haven’t put as much time into their careers. I could be wrong though.
