Just seen 20/1 for Walsall to be relegated
What do you think, too high?
Tbh, that’s a little tempting….
Could be a nice little earner
Not enough value in that for me.
You haven’t the guts to take it though
I have/could never bet us to do badly.
Here’s me looking to do my knackers at the other end of the table. May aswell reinvest last seasons earnings.
Seems that Sporting Index have noticed that we are struggling with signings. On Monday the season points spread was 63.5- 65.5. Tonight it is 59.5-61.5.
Will have a look at a few other markets as well now.
Bread will be dipped in the morning.
Crewe are 33-1 to get promoted, whereas Walsall are 25-1. Chesterfield are league two favourites at 6-1. So the losing play-off finalists are 33-1! I’m guessing Bolton Wanderers, in league one as losing play off finalists, are a tad shorter, in terms of odds for promotion…
I generally steer clear of outright fixed odds tbh
I’ll have a gander at a few markets in the morning
Agreed. Im risk averse with cash.
We’re rock bottom of the table as it stands …
Might well be worth a punt. Sounds obvious but if you can’t score goals and you concede a lot, which we did last season you get relegated
Flash top scorer at 80/1 anybody
We’re not going down. You have to be tragically, comically bad to get relegated out of this league. I actually think it’s a bit of a disgrace that the National League only gets two promotions, and clubs like us can be happily bang average just ticking over. Maybe if there was more threat then we wouldn’t be so lackadaisical.
Comically bad, I think we tick the box. Tragically…we’ll see come the end of the window.
Still not bad enough. It’s hard to fathom how bad you have to be. The relegation clubs I have seen in this league have been noticeably poorer than even us. The only time we have ever looked bad enough was for a short spell under Taylor and under Dutton. You almost have to look like you are trying to be bad.
Who are the obvious relegation candidates this season? I cant think of any.
I’d say Morecambe for obvious reasons, Newport have gradually got worse each season, Bromley obviously have a mountain to climb and Swindon are an absolute basket case. I can see Grimsby struggling too.
I’d throw Accrington in there too. Lost key players and replaced them with a few Morecambe rejects.
Yep Accrington is a fair shout too. I think there’s some dross in the league this year (and I’m not discounting us from that particular statement).
I think Morecambe.
They were mid table last season, threatening the play offs at one point.
Due to ownership issues, they lost the vast majority of their squad, who were out of contract, their manager went too.
Derek Adams has come in, signed 15 new players, can’t sign any more due to budget restrictions.
Having said that, I thought similarly about Crawley last season…
