I really do think this could be a great signing for us! Welcome Reyes :red_circle::white_circle:

Fantastic signing. Ticks a lot of boxes for us. Young, wants to impress, strong, works hard. Heard somewhere in the last year of his contract? - don’t think signing him permanently is that realistic - but if we get promoted you never know.

Well done Walsall for getting this one over the line. UTS.

Welcome young man. I hope your time here goes well and you help us sustain a promotion push.

Great bit of business and should be exciting to see him play.

Who does he replace on the bench (assuming he doesn’t go straight into the team for Saturday with JG’s dodgy hammy)?

Happy with that. More comfortable with Matt and Gordon (fatigue and injuries aside) than I was but this gives us something different. Maybe one other coming in if rumours are true, but we have the best finisher at the club coming back from injury/illness.

Bit disappointed what looks like our main goal threat is a loan for yet another season, but welcome Reyes. Hopefully you’ll succeed and want to sign permanently.

I’m actually pretty happy with our squad as it stands now (if you assume DJ comes back in soon and gets up to fitness reasonably quickly and is used, big assumptions I know).

You can’t argue with the start to the season, 2 wins and knocking a team out the cup from the league above, so I wouldn’t want to rock the boat too much. Do I still think we are slightly light up front? Yeah probably, but they’ve earned the right to be given a chance.

Taylor Allen just signed a new contract though?

good point.

Literally no idea, seems to be behind Faal in the pecking order. So make of that what you want.

Wish him all the best.

Probably Williams as Dave and Weir can cover the defence

If he wasn’t injured for the majority of last season he would be in the west brom first team

Good luck Reyes

Looks a decent bit of business - welcome Reyes.

I’ve wondered if this has always been a factor in the lack of forward incomings. It’s a close-knit squad as I can remember for a while, perhaps they couldn’t find someone in that position they thought fit the bill on the pitch but also character wise too.

Really seems like more emphasis has been put on that with the signings thus far and obviously very early days but look at the impact it’s having. Always going to be a huge boost if each player would go to war with each and every one of their teammates.

I think Matt Sadler mentioned this in one of his interviews maybe last week about not wanting to upset/destable what was there. I took that to mean not sign anybody who was a nob and wouldnt fit into the group, but also not talk too much about weaknesses in the side and undermine what we had and possibly reduce their motivation by saying thanks very much but we’re doing our best to bring in someone better as you’re not good enough.

Sadler has his critics, many of them, and I find his seemingly one gear whatever the result or whatever the mood frustrating but I do think he is building something here, and very much the focus is the sum being greater than the component parts.

I’m not 100 percent sold, but they have absolutely earned the right to be given a chance, Sadler included.
