True Saddlers legend

One of our all time greats - thanks for some wonderful memories shakey.

RIP Shakey

Very sad news. An outstanding player who’s contribution was so consistently elemental, he was the heart and soul of a fabulous era to be a Walsall fan.

RIP Shakey.

Was playing in the first ever match I attended.

Sad news.

Goal v Liverpool from around 16.30. Nice take and finish.

He had a similar chance in the first leg at Anfield and it just went wide of the post.

Never looked out of place when we were playing higher division teams.

God bless ya shaky a wand of a left foot gone too soon RIP fella and have a kick about with mini while ya there

Awful news, RIP Craig

Puts everything else into perspective. RIP Shakey!

Been out and only just heard the news.

Never realised before but he was just one day younger than me. A player I looked upon as a true great when he played for us. We’ve never had anyone since such a threat from free kicks.

And then he went on to so much more after he hung up his boots. Football is the poorer without him.

That rings a bell . He was mesmerising from free kicks , truly awesome

Times change.
Imagine a player of his qualty playing nearly 300 games for us.
Preece, Handysides, Shakespeare…great days

One of our own who played lots of games, scored lots of goals and warmed lots of hearts. The (second) best left foot we have ever seen.

A personal favourite player and a great loss.

Such sad news , my first ever Walsall hero , his thunderous free kicks will live on in my memory .
As a 15/16 year old standing in the street end up again the pitchside wall and seeing those free kicks zooming in was breathtaking.
Progressed to middle of street end behind the goal in a couple of years and could appreciate his skill in midfield more .
You will always be a saddler and a legend to us all .
RIP shakey

RIP Craig - a true Saddler through and through, you will always be part of the best memories at Fellows Park.

Interesting. I used to stand somewhere near the half-way line, and I was thinking last night that a bostin’ free-kick is best appreciated from behind the goal, even if it is at the far end. They can still look good from the side, but behind the goal is best, imo, for a thunderbastard the like of which Shakey used to hit.

One of my favourite players in my Fellows Park years. My heartfelt condolences go out to his family and friends.
