According to a Crewe fan, they were back in for him but we offered to pay more (or all) of his wages to get him here.
Classic from Blackpool forum:
āSimon Sadler signing signs for Sadlerās Saddlersā
Didnāt know their owner was a Sadler too, small worldā¦
How can that be?
Did well at Crewe in this League but barely got a kick in League one for Shrewsbury or Blackpool so maybe this is his level which is fine if he can do a job for us this season.
Iām still struggling to escape the feeling of us trying to do things on the cheap this season thatās nothing against any of the players that have come in either I hope they all do well as that means we should be in a decent position.
How can that be physically or hypothetically? ![]()
Donāt read too much into his time at Shrewsbury picked up an ankle injury which curtailed his time there.
Good luck Ryan.
You are added to the list of players that will see the ball sailing over their head.
Ian Fanny Grin
Good luck to the lad.
They missed the fact that Ben Sadler would have done the paperwork.
Weāve spread the money thinly, going for quantity again. It feels that weāve loaded the team with identikit players. Iām not really sure what Sadler will do when he needs to change things.
This was on the Blackpool board: āIs there a case that Finnegan brings at least some energy? Iām not convinced by him - but heāll run about.ā
That was all the recruitment team needed to know.
Speaks well and seems very keen to impress. Good luck Ryan
A versatile midfielder who has played in all midfield positions. A player who likes to get on the ball and dominate games (not sure how this fits in with Sadball tbh), but also not afraid to put his foot in and an be a physical threat.
All in all sounds like another fabulous addition and one we have taken our time over to make the deal happen.
Buzzing to be here too which is a bonus, alongside all of the other new additions. Can only imagine the noises emitting from the clubhouse at Essington training facility are more akin to a beehive.
That was Barnet on Saturday. ![]()

Here we go again, worrying about players on loan doing well for us, and then being recalled January.
Already sounds like we are going to lose kanu.
I understand other teams in the league have a few loaners to bulk up their squads, but we seem to have them here just to rely on them to be our best players.
Hope Trivela learnt a hard lesson last season, and will be prepared to buy a couple of our own players to fill the gaps, another recruitment like the last couple of seasons will show they donāt really want promotion.
