I didn’t tell anyone to do anything
That was the post you responded to.
It was an observation, not an instruction.
I agree. He should have gone.
I was thinking about this earlier and you’ve just summed it up perfectly.
As a fan, I’m just waiting for him to make a mess of it so we can start working towards promotion. I don’t believe Sadler will ever deliver a promotion.
As another poster said a while back, I’ll believe he can get us promoted when we’re 4 points clear with 1 game left.
We were absolutely abysmal at the start of his first season, went on a good run and then suddenly we’re woeful again for a long period of time.
Great start last season, then woeful again for half a season.
It’s not normal and Sadler should have learned from the first 2 prolonged awful runs. He hasn’t, so why will he learn from the third one?
Isn’t that part of his ‘make up’ though - he doesn’t learn (or listen..)
His obstinate and inflexible approach appears to restrict his footballing brain….
Be interesting to see how long Trivela stick with him if we don’t get off to a flyer (and even if we do, we’ll all be simply waiting for the inevitable implosion…)
This is the problem. Based on the second half of the season, he’s learned nothing.
He’s managed us for 116 matches now, it’s ridiculous that he’s still talked about as a rookie manager. He’s the most experienced rookie in world football!
That’s the thing. No point writing off the drop to fourth as a one-off. There’s a clear pattern. Sadler can put a team in a promising position, but then they choke. Exactly the same thing happened in the play-offs.
I think we all need to take our lead from your kids! It was traumatic what happened last season and I feel really let down by what happened, let down by everyone who was involved, not just Mat Sadler. I look at the players and think they bottled it- how committed were the likes of Stirk, Gordon and McEntee when the going got really tough?!
But, a new season is nearly with us. I’ll be just as excited before the first game as I was last season before the Morecambe game. We’ll have new heroes to cheer. I hope we get off to a good start and that the atmosphere doesn’t get toxic - I don’t hate Sadler, yes he made mistakes , but while he is still our manager, he’s got my support! UTS
Maybe a lesson there for Tommy Fleetwood.
He was definitely in denial during his recent holiday to Egypt.
I got it even if the others are too thick (joking by the way before I get lynched)
Biggest problem this leaves us with is what the hell is our 1 dimensional troll going to talk about now. It will have to come up with new bollox to spoat!
Doesn’t sound like the same player at all.
Never really got that stuck in for us or offered a ‘nastiness’?
I’m not expert on these stats, but dribbled past 30 times seems very high to me.
Agree - many times he seemed to want to get rid of the ball as fast as possible (often times to an opposing player….)
One of the highest in the division, especially as the majority of games he played as a protector midfielder.
Not much protecting.
Was also ranked 164th out of 332 in the division based on successful tackles per 90.
