Sadler out! Save our season!

I don’t know if anyone else is feeling the same as me, but even if we crawl across the line in 3rd place I will feel very little joy. I just want this season over with now, as what could have been a golden year in the clubs history feels tainted. Had we continued even average form since January we would have been promoted as champions and headed into next season on the crest of a wave.

Regardless of what division we are in next year, I just do not see how we can compete, the confidence has gone. That unity and feel good factor that was seeping from every facet of Walsall FC has evaporated. The club has stood by watching passively from the sidelines with arms folded, both metaphorically and in Sadlers case physically, as all the hard work of first 5 months was undone.

I worked out today I have racked up about 35 years of following the Saddlers, and I do not think I have ever enjoyed it less than I am at the moment.

Obviously be happy and relieved if we go up….

But there is a sense of foreboding whatever league we find ourselves in given the shambles and capitulation since January.

These last 3/4 months do not go away.

The joy could still come back, imagine sealing promotion with a last minute goal at Crewe! (forgive me I’m clutching at straws).

But yeah it will be tainted somewhat even if we do manage it and Sadler will have someway to go to regain fan’s confidence.

100%, even if we did manage promotion would feel very difficult to actually “celebrate” it

We are all different but if we win promotion after this run of results I will be overjoyed. It will be a miracle and the thought of playing some of the bigger teams in Division one makes me very happy. We saw earlier in the season the quality in that division in those great cup ties. I think we have blown it now but you just never know…a win on Monday (surely we have to win sometime) and we are back in with a chance.

Not sure what MIRCALE is myself but 2 wins in 18 would make it somewhat special!!!

Allegedly :joy:

Miracle? It should be a given. Our fate is still in our own hands, we’ve STILL got the easiest three games of anyone in the promotion race, and as was demonstrated in the latter stages yesterday, we’ve got players that are very good at this level, its just that the manager won’t play them.

You are right but 2 wins in 18 tells a story!

Yep, it tells a story of a pig-headed manager, who despite having genuine depth and quality in his squad chose to flog the living daylights out of key players for no reason whatsoever, until we ended up in this insane mess.

Yep I get that, just struggling to see any optimism at the moment. When I read your comment, I instantly imagined a last minute Crewe goal that knocked us out of the automatic places ………. God what have you done to me Sadler :joy:

You mean the best talent in there best positions .Nah football management is a lot more complicated than that

It would be very frustrating to continue to select Matt in the starting lineup on Monday given how ineffective he has become of late (not his fault, he’s just getting on and he hasn’t had a break and only 3 days AND an early kick off Monday between games).

I will not be holding my breath.

TBH Jamma looked broken at the end of the match. Possibly injured as well

Problem is Sadler has massive respect for Jamma he obviously has a special bond with him this is blinding him into not seeing that in playing him totally dictates Our style of play which has become easy to counter by the opposition .its rank bad management and till he bites that bullet it’s going to continue .
