Yeah, it’s nonsense. Earing has always been a goal threat anyway, chipped in with some important goals for us over the years.
I’ve no problem with Earing regarding his creativity and ability to take a goal scoring chance .we’re he does concern me some times is he has a tendency to fall asleep and give the ball away in defensive areas .he really needs to work on this side of his game and be more switched on .
He has done this notably in the past, but I’m not entirely sure that is the area he should be operating in this side anyway. Stirk is the deep sitting play maker, and Jellis is the ratter, so what would you want Earing so deep for as well? I know we don’t play with an “attacking midfielder” any more, but I’d see his job as more advanced in this side.
I agree but there’s going to be times when we’re under the cosh and he needs to be on it and not giving the ball away and do his bit defensively.i agree he’s certainly not a defensive midfielder .I personally don’t want to see him being anywhere near our defence .but as I say there’s times he’s going to have do his bit .
I agree he has given the ball away in key areas in the past, but I’m not sure about not “doing his bit”. He played as a defensive midfielder (and did a pretty good job of it) exclusively under Matt Taylor. He wasn’t a liability in terms of winning the ball back/defensive work. Maybe if you are one nil up with twenty to play or whatever, is when I would think about replacing him for a Lakin/Comley.
Earing is very good at being in the right place, knowing when to make those forward runs and when to hold, one of the best things about his game I’d say.
He plays far better like that than when Flynn (Or was it Taylor?)was manager and he played much deeper.
Maybe you take a look at the highlights if you have them on sky of recent game against MK …
there goal Kelly’s run ,and second half Earing gives the ball away on edge of own penalty area .about 3 mins left highlights.
To be fair, there were several opportunities gifted to Bradford on Saturday from giving the ball away cheaply. I’ve been a big fan of Stirk this season but he also made several errors. League 2 players are going to do this, especially as we seem to be attacking with a higher tempo this season.
Always room for improvement. I do think Earing can kick on even more, but obviously his progress has kept being halted by injuries.
Yep like I said Jacks probably our most creative player now Hutch is gone .and like you say mistakes are going to happen that’s we’re most goals come from not having a go a Earing far from it just think it’s an area he and like you say others can improve .i think we’ve actually got away with it to some extent with poor finishing from the opposition.
Absolutely brilliant mate you’ve got the job
Taylor, he basically played as a defensive midfielder. I think he did for a little while under Flynn at first but was pretty much injured for the rest of his time.
I’m not disagreeing that he has done that, that’s not the same as defensive capabilities though.
600 sold so far so probably going to be a similar following to MK of 800+ with pay on the day.
Tomorrows game is time for the Saddlers to start winning on the road. Tough opposition, always, every game is tough in this division but we have to cure our travel sickness sooner rather than later so we may as well start with Salford.
They have a decent side but so do we especially given the options we have on the bench.
It won’t be an easy game but we can win this.
UTS
I hope they don’t win on the road tomorrow. I’d much rahter they win at Salford on Saturday
We’ve yet to have a clean sheet against Salford as well, is Saturday the time? Also we haven’t had a draw against them yet either. 0-0?
A very popular score is 2-1 in this game .
I can see that being the score this time to the saddlers .
Will have a cheeky fiver on it . UTS
Unseasonably warm conditions forecast tomorrow (into the mid seventies), it may be well into Autumn but don’t underestimate the strength of the sun. I’d certainly advise anyone attending tomorrow not to get caught out, wear sun protection, a hat would be a good idea and a bottle of water.
Crod’s ready.
Yeah but Salford is in Manchester. It’ll rain, it always rains in Manchester
