Probably not. As with Rushworth, Stoke will have obtained assurances that Simkin will be first choice.
Possibly , but I would be a little disappointed in Hornby if heās already accepted heās number 2.
Anyone weād signed would have to, if Stoke have put conditions on Simkin.
Sometimes the keeper signs a contract knowing he wonāt be number one, except in some calamitous circumstances. And thatās probably here. TS wouldnāt be in the club, if some guarantees are not sewn in his loan deal.
I doubt there were any such assurances, he just proved himself over time. Thereās plenty of players from bigger clubs that have come and had hardly any game time whatsoever.
Personally I have no idea of the terms that either Simkin or Hornby have agreed too , just as I suspect no one else on here has.
Itās not really a issue both of them look ok .
Another song could be āThatās just the way it is, some thingsāll never changeā when we concede from a set piece in the first 20 minutes of our opening game.
Apparently, before he joined us at the Poundland, he was sponsored by budget competitors, āThe Rangeā, although it might have been his dad, Bruce.
Who knows whether that is true or not but, thatās just the way it is!
There is no doubt Simkin is number one, itās the only reason we got him. Hornby is an excellent backup and will probably get the first round milk cup game and the trophy games too.
Hopefully we wont get derailed too early in those competitions.
Iām sure he will be a model professional ā¦
Howās it going Peter? Donāt hear much from you these days.
Kind of you to ask - Iām just doddering along, as befits my circumstances ā¦ still trying to adjust to life as a widower, and not exactly relishing the thought that come February I will be an octogenarian!!! (UGH!).
WFC remains prominent in my thoughts however, and the new season brings with it the same hopes Iāve had in previous years - the squad we have will certainly bring us promotion ā¦ wonāt it?
Cup half full, as always - very best wishes to you, young Neil.
