Sawyers

Agreed about Bradshaw - should never have started. I enjoyed the day - it was my birthday- but didnā€™t enjoy the game. At least I can say that Iā€™ve seen Walsall play at Wembley.

Mantom had only just come back too. Perhaps Sawyers could have done with the fresher legs of Cain around him at that time rather than someone still well short of match fitness?

I bet Cain was gutted that we lost, I wonder what price he could have fleeced someone out of for some Wembley memorabilia?

I really enjoyed that day as well after the game me and the wife went to grab something to eat in a nearby restaurant and met Mick Fleetwood and Christopher Lee. Granted it wasnā€™t the famous ones but even soā€¦

Good business by Albion, 3 million.

Not really, they let him go for nothing a little while back
Good player at championship level though.

Not quite as galling as Man Utd with Pogba

Just seen heā€™s made Championship team of the year.

Never make it at a higher levelā€¦

Interesting to see how he will take the step to the big time

I hope he does well, heā€™s eating a crack at the top flight. He certainly held his own when we played chelsea.

Good Lord! :astonished:

I hope he does well, I think he has the ability, but not sure West Brom have enough quality to enable him to thrive. Hopefully Iā€™m wrong about that.

Alot of my WBA do not rate him but I keep explaining hes played far too deep, really does bug me how a half decent manager can play an attacking talented midfielder as a defensive midfielder, it is borderline criminal.

Absolutely agree with that Doddy. I watched the Baggies last few matches, as they did their best to avoid promotion, only to be thwarted by Brentford.
They were poor, no pace, negative, most of the play went backwards and as you say, Sawyers was played completely out of position.
I hope they stay up and Sawyers does well, but their manager will do for them.

Yes, heā€™ll do

I love how everyone jumps to sawyers defence and claims he played effortlessly which made him look lazy. Every single club heā€™s been at have said the same. Heā€™s good when ur controlling the game but heā€™s terrible when you ainā€™t ( Hence why heā€™s been dropped by West Brom). Our fans say heā€™s an attacking midfielder but whatā€™s his assist record and goal scoring record to warrant a no10 position? He always plays backwards too which slows down the attacks. Heā€™s a luxury player and more times than not watched the game pass him by something Walsall, Brentford and West Brom canā€™t get away with which then causes the criticism. For me heā€™s a centre mid who needs a top class defensive midfielder next to him with world class players ahead of him something heā€™s never gonna get. Nowhere near some of the legends who have put on a Walsall shirt over the years

Mate heā€™s currently playing in the Premier League, he was a top player for Walsall , Brentford and West Brom last season.

How you draw a negative out of that I have no idea.

Considering heā€™s so bad, only plays backwards, letā€™s the game pass him by and is a luxury player, heā€™s done okay to become a regular Premier League midfielder.

I donā€™t know if you watched the WBA game against Chelsea recently, but he pretty much ran the game against Kovacic, Kante and Havertz.

Could you imagine Keates putting in such a performance.
