Scunthorpe United (H) Tuesday December 29th, 7pm

Scunthorpe’s starting xi is extremely inexperienced.

Must win for me tonight.

Played at Pryors Hayes, which is just east of Chester, through the Golf Now site. Although I live in South Liverpool now (and looking for a new club to join) I still play over with my long-time golfing mates in Salford / Manchester. Just getting the bad weather there at the mo and the course is closed.

League is crackers aye it chunk

I’ve played there when I lived in Chester. I was a member at Vicars Cross in those days. Also used to get a bit sticky in the winter.

Someone recommended Vicars Cross to me and I keep seeing it on Golf Now so would like to give it a try. Quite liked Pryors Hayes and had some nice holes. Apparently Chester Golf Club is good but right by the river and always wet and closed for too much of the winter months! Wouldn’t mind giving Helsby a go too.

Just trying to work out the formation of that 11. Google has it as 442 but wondered if it could be 4132 (which would be very adventurous and positive as well as maybe a bit risky, leaving only Guthrie as a defensive mid to protect the back 4). Maybe have Kins less forward (which would be a shame given his form) so it is 2 deeper centre mids again, and get the full backs to press up the flanks a bit more.

Meanwhile Blues (Etheridge in goal) are 0-3 down at half-time to Derby County. First goal scored by Krystian Bielik (on loan to us, but don’t think he actually played - injury?)

Yeah, saw that too via google alerts. Seems a bit of a shame to revert back to 442 and when at home too, when we have done well with a more higher up the pitch pressing formation.
Maybe our little duracell bunny on the pitch will make up for that!

This I think would be our best bet tonight and go for it , would be a shame to play Kinsella in a deeper role as I think he’s excelled playing further up the pitch .

Agreed. He plays much better when given that positive freedom as he doesn’t have to think too much about what to do with the ball in the centre circle!

Sad no place for Nolan after last game only getting a few minutes , really want him to show his early potential and make the right wing his .

To be fair the pitch looks good

You’re right Welsh. Bielik was perma-injured & didn’t kick a ball for us.
