We are fast approaching the end of the season but there is still a lot of work to be done. Is each game now a cup final?
We chat through the upcoming games and what players we would like to see feature in them, as well as where we think the points may or may not come from.

Just caught this latest cast lads and as ever - entertaining stuff
That said I have to take issue with a couple of points made and disagree wholeheartedly!
Firstly, it was stated that DJ might have to move into National League to continue his playing career next season - that is complete rubbish IMO - he might not suit our press approach for 90 mins but is easily a perfect fit for many teams in L2 that enjoy possession football and create box threats for a classic striker…
Secondly, I think Harvey said that Wheatley may not make it professionally if he doesn’t crack it here with us. That’s got to be a joke surely - he’s highly rated by MU (recently awarded a contract extension) and is playing in the England youth set up (and scoring) - it’s us that will miss out through not giving the lad the productive playing opportunities to flourish…
Forgive the opinion but I had to reply as it irked me…
Keep up the good work lads…

DJ would still do a great job in League 2 for a team that builds style for creating chances in the penalty area for him. I don’t think they even have to be a possession based team.
Maybe even more important, a team where he feels loved, like he was here in his first stint with us. He was the main man and he was loving it.

I shall be raising both points with my co-host as I agree with what you are saying
DJ scores too many goals to drop down a division, he just needs to fit a system better. Any side being promoted/near the drop who need a goal scorer will be looking at him for sure
Would rather the pods spark irks and discussions, it would be boring if everyone agreed all the time!

There were quite a lot of his teammates giving him him loads of love as the players came over to our fans. Definitely didn’t seem to be any dressing room schism between him and the rest of the squad as has sometimes been suggested.
BTW Isn’t it strange that now Sadler has given him another start, all those clamouring for DJ to be first on the teamsheet are now more or less admitting MS was right all along and he’s best being brought on as a sub (although maybe a bit earlier than he has been). Maybe less of this fabled rift and more a bit of managerial nous after all?
I wasn’t suggesting there was any rift. I seriously doubt DJ saw his time with us panning out how it has when he signed. And I’d be amazed if he was feeling the same way as he was when he was first choice under Flynn. There is no question about the togetherness of the squad as far as I am concerned.
I also wasn’t suggesting he should be starting every/any game. Just that if he could find the right move, he could still thrive in League 2.
Your way of looking at Sadler’s use of DJ is one way of looking at it. I’m not sure if he should be starting or not, but I certainly didn’t write him off because of Saturday. In fact, I’d suggest that Matt Sadler mismanaged it a bit on Saturday because in the latter stages of the game when DJ was off we actually played more football without the constant hoof to Jamile and the clever play of Hall. That’s just an observation from a football fan, though. I don’t have any coaching badges. Not me or any other fan gets a say in who plays, just an opinion, whether it is right or wrong.

Glad you agree that being irked is fine and to disagree isn’t an issue (just sensible difference of opinion!)
Keep the pods coming - I really like em…
Vale now becomes our biggest game in many years. Should we win that then I fancy us to get over the line.
Should we lose then we really are in a mess!
We just need some luck, we haven’t had anything for months.

Of course!
Might start making some outrageous comments to see where the line is now
Some folk do that on here fairly regularly

Sorry mate, was just using that one line of yours to hang my own comment on (as a leader if you like), I didn’t mean to imply that I thought you yourself held the views I was challenging. Apologies if that was the way it came across to you.
Personally I think DJ ought to be getting more time on the pitch (certainly before the ref is looking at his watch with the whistle between his lips) but I can understand why he isn’t starting and getting many 90 minutes - the way we have played all season, he doesn’t bring as much to the party on that score as other forward options do, though that doesn’t mean he can’t do a job at all (far from it!) But coming on as a second half sub when Jamma + whoever have worn down their CBs a bit? Definitely (and much earlier - especially if we are desperate for a goal).
Also, under Flynn our style was different (and less successful) and he was more or less our only goal threat, but now we have goals all across the squad.
And I believe that is the reason (or one of them) that he hasn’t been used as much as many people want, and not because of some supposed personal grudge on Sadler’s part - as I said, it was clear he is still “one of the gang” as far as the rest of the squad is concerned (unless one of our resident body language experts can show otherwise …)
We weren’t that much less successful under Flynn with DJ in the team. We were in a very good position if I remember rightly. Not top for 4 months, admittedly. I don’t think the team in general was as good though.
I agree with most of what you said. To DJ’s credit, I don’t think his body language has ever looked like he couldn’t give a toss, and despite probably being disappointed about how things have turned out, he appears to have remained professional about it all.
I also agree that he is probably best as sub, but could do with a bit more time on the pitch to have an impact sometimes.
I said to my lads a while back now, I am sure he will score another important goal to help us towards promotion. Well, I think last night counts as that. I suspect it may not be the last one, either.
