I’d say it’s more interest and intrigue rather than excitement to be fair Sid. We knew from the start that Trivela wanted to keep increasing their multi-club model and it looks like they’re still committed to doing exactly that.
One of the potential positives could come in the form of recruitment from a previously untapped market that our direct competitors don’t have the same access to. Anything that can help widen the player pool we’re signing from should be a good thing.
As @el_nombre says, there’s arguments for and against the multi-club model and I’m sure in the fullness of time we’ll see how much it actually benefits WFC. However, the partnership with Drogheda seems to be going well, and if we get the chance for another pre-season trip then I’m all for it.
Because it’s now directly linked to us through our owners Jesus Christ. It’s not that hard, you said something daft. It’s ok!
Ah we’re on to Whatabouttery number 4: “they’re all separate pots anyway!” Nobody is saying they’re not. Nobody is saying our money is being spent in Ireland or Denmark. If they are, they’re, frankly, stupid. But Trivela are investors. They have a finite amount of money to invest and buying football clubs and running them isn’t cheap. They are therefore splitting the capital they have to INVEST between (now) 3 pots. I think I tried to explain this to you re Drogheda and you couldn’t grasp it then.
But anyway, as I said, more whatabouttery. Doesn’t change my initial point that, of course, Walsall fans will care whether something there owners do negatively or positively effects their football club.
As for “getting excited” f***ing hell, that clearly proves you don’t read I literally said it’s impossible to tell at this stage and reiterated it for you
Thank you for pointing out the stupidity of my argument and the strength and validity of yours. I’ve learned my lesson now and will never question your superior intellect again.
Not being funny but you don’t seem to understand investment strategy. They have invested in Walsall FC to the extent that they have bought the club, the ground, and the saddlers club. Arguably all of those things were under invested to the extent that one of them was literally derelict, and prudent investment coupled with recruitment and employment of management will likely produce a return. If they were to invest further, and to the extent of 23 million that would likely be speculative, and higher risk on areas like player wages/transfer fees, or even on the stadium - which at the moment is half empty on most match days. All highly desirable from a Walsall fan point of view but not necessarily from that of those taking the potential punt. So it’s entirely sensible that such investment ( in keeping with aforementioned strategy) is aimed elsewhere and that isn’t incongruous with the to date and ongoing investment in Walsall FC. What I want to see is a good solid January to enable rather than scupper the present opportunity, and when promotion is achieved a genuine sustainable strategy to further grow the club to that comparable with those of similar size that have left us behind …examples being Rotherham and Stockport.
I think people are also forgetting that Trivelas stated aim when they purchased us was to make us a much more attractive prospect, both on and off the pitch, for future buyers. We are not necessarily a permanent part of the stable.
As blazing has already said mate Issa are very much questioning the club, Requesting a meeting
Regarding fan concerns, on many occasions
, but as stated by blazing all requests are batted away. With. The usual Go through the slo line
Given the slo is controlled by the club in what he can and can’t say. Any taxing questions are just disregarded or shut down, We are not even sure our requests get through to Ben boycott , as mr pomlett has a reputation for Only wanting to answer the mundane ones put out at the fan meetings
Issa has raised serious concerns over the structure of the morgadge in place ref the freehold , but they will not comment on it , or what will happen should there multi ownership model Dilute there interest in let’s say. Smaller elements of there. Jigsaw
I see pomlett is due to speak again. Regarding the new purchase , be interesting to hear his take on things
That’s an interesting point when you consider we live in a world where Brentford and Bournemouth are established top flight clubs, both of whom were miles behind “well run Walsall” on every level circa early to mid 00’s.
I’m not saying it’s a bad investment. I’m saying they had 20 odd million dollars to invest in a football club, and it’s been spent on buying a different one to the one they already own that also happens to be the only one I give a shit about.
It’s not about “not understanding” it. It’s about not being arsed what their investments bring them. I support Walsall FC, not Trivelas bank balance.
Would have been a hell of a solid Jan with even a fraction of that spent on us. You could build a side that would piss this league and the most probably be in the play offs in the one above for that money.
Season ticket prices went up drastically this year btw …
