It looks good on paper but Lakin actually scored 8 in 20 games for Sutton in league two but never looked like replicating that here.
Hopefully he can hit the ground running starting or off the bench as desperately need a goal scoring midfielder.

Left footed midfielder who places his shots rather than banging then skywards, whatâs not to like, got to say thou the standard of goalkeeping in that 3 minute you tube clip was desperate lol.

Talking of Jellis, whatâs happened to him?
They still countâŚespecially with this clubâs general record with penalties.
However last two seasons Lakin was just used as another runner in CM with no real expectation to do anything else by the person managing him.
Iâm not against signing guys like Simper but generally non league signings thrive with real quality around them e.g. Barrett being able to pick out Lowe for his first six months here so that is always the issue for the club. Can it sign some proven top end midfielders for this level in next two months? The Grimsby guy seems like one so hopefully heâs confirmed this week.

Think jellis could well end up back at tamworth now that they have new owners and you would think a better budget.
Interesting that he never took one for us (except in shootouts). We could have done with a reliable penalty taker.

Little disappointed we didnât announce another signing tonight, itâs not like we donât need to get a fair few in.
Simper was done early so I was expecting another one.
On paper, I know at a lower level, but the two coming in look decent additions, and look better than who we had last season.
Hope they keep improving our player quality with each signing.
Excited to see what tomorrow brings signings wise, maybe some backroom staff, or maybe the new kit aswell as another player.
I was aware he had scored a few pens, so I noticed that more often than not when we got a penalty he wasnât on the pitch at the time, especially in 24/25. Not sure he would have taken them anyway to be fair.
Wouldnât be shocked to see him drop out the league to be honest
Again, I like this signing. I have to say, both signings are exciting and an indication of a more positive, attacking style of play.
Whyâs it more exciting following Walsall when a ball isnât being kicked!?

Encouraging signing from the evidence and what people gave said. Lets hope heâs better and lasts longer than the last Lewis we had in midfield!!
