Solihull Moors (A) - Friendly, Sat 29th July, 3:00pm

Cant go to this as already got other plans… will be interesting to hear about our new signings… hopefully we can put on a really good performance

We could have the same lineup except hussey and dj for 6/7 years ! Wow good stuff for future x

The only person I can remember Labadie seriously injuring was himself.

That is what I like about the squad building this year.Mainly young, energetic and ambitious players. If they can improve with the coaching we give them then the future is bright.

He will be booked within the first 15 mins and either have to hold back or get sent off(or as in it being a friendly) subbed

Any seating in the away wnd or is it all standing? Thinking of taking kids but they wont stand for that long.

As well as covered terracing in the corner behind one goal, we’ve been given a block of uncovered seats on the side (with plenty still free).

Not sure why it’s segregated this season - never has been for our previous visits.

The website makes it clear he is 122. Should bring some experience to the team.

He’s almost as old as Colin Methven

Colin Methuselah?

The ARMCO Arena is never an easy place to go.

12 months ago this was again our last pre-season fixture 1 week before the real action started. It was also our first sight of DJ after his signing very soon before (and of course he scored!)

It will probably be our first chance to see what Oteh and Tierney bring to the party - although with a choice of 6-7 forwards I don’t know how they are all going to get time on the pitch in this match.

It is very much a squad game these days, but I’m hoping that MS has some idea of his ideal starting XI for next week and that he gives them at least a few minutes together as a unit today.

And I wouldn’t mind seeing him try out a Plan B formation at some point instead of just 90 minutes of the 3-something-2 he seems to prefer.

I think we could have done with a couple more friendlies, especially for the players who are the probable 1st 11.

Anyone know if there is a live stream

There’s one that meanders through the Arboretum.

Not seen any notice of one anywhere (definitely not mentioned on our or Solhull’s OS or Twitter/X).

It’s not all-ticket though so you can rock up and watch it if you can make it.

BTW Why is it segregated this year when it hasn’t been for any of our previous visits?

Wasn’t there a bit of aggro last year?? I think Moors fans have got ideas above their station and this is a big game for them.

Certainly a different experience to the the time I visited here … Away bar like man shed. It’s not too bad with 10 of us in here but give it half hour and it will be rammed. Also been told we won’t be allowed out until around 5 minutes after the game finishes.

Sounds very sensible to me, I’d advise any fellow Saddlers attending today to exercise caution and be vigilant in and around the stadium, particularly if wearing colours.

No DJ, DTJ, or Knowles in the squad today.
