Playing devils advocate - is another striker going to make a difference? To me its the style of play that’s a key issue. In the pre-season games, has there been chance after chance missed by Flash and Jamma that would leave you thinking “if only we had a better finisher?”.
I’ve been bored stiff in most of the friendlies through lack of chance creation and positive play. Now you could argue that these matches are all about fitness but surely its about putting into practice the style and patterns you are expected to play. As it stands whilst more bodies in is good for depth and options, I’m not convinced another striker or two will make a fundamental difference as it is the style and methods that seem to be the issue.

Exactly. We don’t create and we don’t have a clue when on the ball how to sustain pressure in anyway shape or form. Unless we become set piece specialists and we’re solid at the back it’s gonna be a massive struggle and a very dull watch. If we’re winning it’s fine but if we’re losing it feels 1000 times worse. We all know what’s coming

I think two strikers is the bare minimum to allow us to be able to have a squad that can function at all, assuming we are going to continue playing two strikers.
I am not someone who thinks it will make us contenders of any kind. Some do, we will have to wait and see. Statements like “The defence is sorted” concern me. In numbers maybe but let’s see how they function as a team. Same players that were hardly successful last season.
Hutchinson is also going to be a big miss. We always look better when Earing plays in my opinion but how often is he going to be available?
I’m down in the dumps about it all so maybe my opinion isn’t the one to take on board.

A very valid point. Even if we are playing hoofball we look to be trying to hit it a long for a counter, but then sign zero pace up front or anywhere else in the side really.
Im not sure how much sense it makes.
I keep going on about it but some proper pace would make a big difference. We are just a bunch of plodders.
Also you can be as fit as you like but playing the way we are, is going to kill us in the late stages of the game.

Well-run clubs don’t go into one-week before the new season relying on two strikers who couldn’t finish a wank (©️El Nombre)! Why did Sadler sign them both? Was he not confident that, with the money available (or lack of it!) we could get anything better? And the DJ situation is really starting to piss me off: either get fit to play or feck off! We need to sign some quality, and quick. American-owned, and we still haven’t got a pot to piss in!

We really have no threat up front, matts so slow and gordan just comes to get paid as he has no idea what he doing on the pitch. Morecombe must be looking forward to a easy win away from home. Saddler isnt the manager we need, and travela need to look at giving a budget that can complete, or attendances will fall. I heard that we’ve sold less season tickets thats got to hurt if you cannot get fan back,
