I am starting to think Trivela are idiots to be honest
They are investors - not idiots.
Idiots would be chucking boat loads of money into a club without guaranteed returns.
It feels more like they think we are idiots. Hope not. It will all come out in the wash.
Mentored by Pomnocchio shouldn’t be surprised really.
Saturday 5 pm.
You are going to have to do better than that @NewportSaddlersDad , I’ve already bettered you by five minutes.
Why not start it now - there are plenty calling for his head on several threads?
Last season there was a time when many were disappointed when we won because it meant Sadler would stay a bit longer.
I predict he will go during the season, probably to be replaced by Waddock.
Why do you predict this?
I’d allowed 10 minutes extra for Jammas
On pitch injury treatment.
Because I think that too many supporters cannot stand him and that anything other than promotion form will lead to massive unrest. Supporters do not sack managers but sometimes the latter’s position becomes untenable, as it did with Flynn.
I welcomed Sadler’s appointment as a breath of fresh air after Flynn’s negativity but he has disappointed me a bit with his later approach. I do not think it is fair to condemn him before the season starts and I am prepared to give him a decent chance, which means the first dozen or so games. There will be others less tolerant.
See what Trivela come up with in terms of signings over the coming weeks. If fans feel that they haven’t given enough it could be them that get turned on. That is when you will see Sadler get moved on, to put the fire out for a while at least.
You never know, we could get off to a good start and things stay calm for a while, here’s hoping.
Quite, although I fear there are some who would see that as a bad outcome.
Can’t see that myself. Virtually everyone on here wants us to do well.
If we do start well then those that really dislike Sadler, and have nailed their colours to the mast, will obviously give the credit to ROK anyway, as their get out of jail card.
I’m not sure how much input O’Kelly has in our style of play, doesn’t seem anything like his style. I thought when he made that comment about ripping it up and starting again there may be a change, but from preseason games we are still playing exactly the same way.
There seem to be more people questioning Trivela than Sadler at the moment. I agree with you, I don’t think many ever want Walsall to lose, I know I never have. I know a lot come on here for a moan after a bad result, I do it myself though, bit of a release more than anything.
Let’s get it straight, there’s not a fan with walsall at heart that wants us do bad. We all want us to do well with something to believe in. Let’s hope it happens
The difference between Walsall and other teams is they’ve bought their players in weeks before and got them accustomed to the rest of the team, we on the other hand will sign someone Friday and expect him to fire straight away.
It really does make you think do we get strikers in really late in the window just to save a few quid on wages, infuriating the fan base . Instead of looking at the bigger picture and getting them in early which can only benefit the team ?
I have the feeling any advice ROK has to give is more likely to be taken by Ben and the board (think he’s more a sounding board for them ) than an advisor to Sadler ,Sad’s comes over to me as very much his own man I’m in charge ,which ain’t a bad thing if your getting the results .think also Ben was aware ROK popularity amongst the fan base, and sort of smooths the Sadler appointment a bit with the fans ,might be way off with that view .but it’s how see it .
It’s clear they’ve known since last week given that tetchy response by Sadler in the post-game after Tamworth…
I know I picked up on it straight away, as did others - and it tallies with what @MoroccoMole has been reporting too.
I find it incredible we are now just about 24 hours from the season starting with a shambles of a squad.
Defence? Same as last season pretty much - which shipped in as many goals as any other Walsall side in the last 20 years.
Midfield? looks as bland and as appetising as a salad composed entirely of cabbage.
Forward areas? Woeful. I am telling you, I’ve been saying all summer, the plan was to have Gordon and Matt as the experienced two with younger loans supplementing.
My only hope is they panic with the under 23 loan situation - see the frustration amongst the fanbase and are forced to do something; and get in a few quality additions in midfield and forward areas.
Whatever they do from here on out is not by design - it is by fortune and/or panic.
We have a new goalkeeper, a new RWB, McEntee back and Weir. How is that the same defence?
We don’t yet know how the midfield will turn out but we do have Jellis, Lakin and Adomah new, a sprinkling of tomato, radish and celery for your salad.
The forwards I agree. I doubt there is another club in the country with as few as 3 forwards in the first team squad.
