Kind of nervous about this with Swindle & us in good form ( apart from 4 minutes of mayhem v Cheltenham ) so predicting we will squeak it with a 3-2 win with uncs getting a flukey injury time winner in off his derriere from a clearance

love it!
Scrappy hard fought narrow win
Hate the way we threw two points away mid week, hate Swindles fans who think they are better than everyone else, hate the ground will STILL not be full with us top of the league, and hate how Holloway has got these lowlifes performing, even if he’s as mad as a box of frogs.
Will hate saturday night if I go home without a win.
So Walsall I hope you’re going to turn it on for us against these, and start showing everyone why we are top of the league.
PS Hope the club have a big response to the early bird and we set a new record for season ticket holders, would love our gates to improve and start playing to a full house every home game and get the Bescot bouncing.
Come on you reds
If we dont win Saturday the dream is over.
What we don’t want is another repeat of Cheltenham! I hope the lads have learned their lesson, we can’t afford to switch off until we’re over the line.
I will feel a lot better if we get maximum points from the next two games, the clubs below us can’t all of their games (yes they can, but it’s very unlikely), as long as we focus on what we do and not worry about the chasing pack we’ll be alright.
Victory tomorrow please.

I think one of the problems is the fans worrying about the chasing pack most of whom we have beaten!!! Let us be confident as a fan base and get behind this young and inexperienced team. I don’t expect and neither should anyone else a flawless run to the end of the season but we are in a very strong position.
In two months, with a bum streak, the chasing pack have chewed only five points out of our lead.
We got this.
Everyone and anyone picks up and drops points to any other team in this league, which is why when we showed that consistency we built up such a lead. We need to keep picking up wins and draws when we can but not get too down when we we will probably lose one or two over the next couple of months because likely as not we’ll win the next one. UTS
Surprised we haven’t sold well over 5k home tickets for this by now. Heslop mentions we’re close to 6k total sales in his pre match interview with Sadler and I’d already seen earlier in the week that Swindon had shifted over 1k at that point.
It is a shame. Being top of the league you can’t really ask for more on the pitch, so the assumption must be made that the sticking point for a lot of people is the price. £22/£26/£27 is not cheap if you are a casual fan.
It’d be great to have another offer on for perhaps the Wimbledon game, now we know it’s definitely 3pm, to pack the place out.
Same old, same old really. The people of Walsall will not really respond unless success is almost guaranteed i.e. a promotion/title winning occasion.
Let’s be grateful for 5,000+ regulars as we’ve only rarely had that on a consistent basis and it is an improvement on the lost years of the previous regime.
If casual fans and general walk-up customers that just want to watch a game of football, could walk to a turnstile, pay with contactless and enter the ground, we would attract a lot more.
But no. If you haven’t already, you have to sign up to the website, purchase your tickets online or on the phone, wait in a substantial queue and collect tickets, wait to enter the ground. In some cases that could potentially be a good 45 mins of standing in queues. In 2025 where everything is so accessible, its not good enough. It wasnt good enough a decade ago
Will you be doing “the dance” as well? Let’s hope it’s a good day at the office for the Saddlers!
A lot of that depends on where you want to sit I think. It’s not that busy in most parts of the ground, the lower and upper is queued pretty bad if you arrive close to kickoff.
I think the idea of buying from the turnstile is a quality idea. I think the pop up ticket booths is also a good idea, like official ticket touts walking around but we may find that away fans in the home section with that approach.
Why not create a credit system on an online account, ABIT like an oyster card or loyalty thing you can tap to enter and it assignees you a seat via text… you maintain loyalty points and for the casual fan it maintains an auditable footprint of purchase and ticket control!
Do we need to do a bucket collection to keep the club going? Losing best part of £2million aint great. Maybe we can all dip in and help?
The dream of beating Swindon… I agree!
The dream of winning the league or promotion, doubtful but I think that’s why a lot of our more fickle fans don’t fancy going.
You are spot on! Generally speaking I think we are collectively emotionally damaged as a fan base, people are expecting the worse. It’s all flipped where the players and staff have more belief than the supporters. A small handful of people leave early or stop watching just in case we concede!
The automatic assumption is “oh god I bet we lose this” and then immense joy and disbelief when we win, and that comes out in the noise. We as supporters grow into the game and it’s part of the reason (imo) we do well in the second half, they mention it all the time about sucking the ball into the back of the net, etc.
I am no different but I force myself to see the positives and put faith in the squad and Sadler. I do it because I don’t expect next year will be as fun or exciting when we get promoted!
Totally agree with this.
The issue would be controlling segregation of fans
