Easy 3 points against 'rock bottom" Carlisle, on Tuesday :flushed:

Bottom of the league. No excuses, I’ve heard too many.

He could always surprise the shyte out of everyone …including the bang average opposition …by starting DJ for the first time in the league this season. How the hell he hasn’t yet is unreal, and the fact that Albert continues to get first dibs as the centre-forward sub is mind-boggling.

Sadler needs to realise we need to win about 5 or 6 games to save his plums, so instead of bringing DJ on as a 10 minute potential plum-saver when staring down the barrell of an individual defeat…which he insultingly only ever is, how about giving the lad an actual chance to positively contribute in these last 12 games? I would love to ask Sadler “what has Ethan Wheatley done to deserve starts ahead of Danny Johnson??”

Spot on @geordiesaddler

We are perhaps fortunate to be playing Carlisle when they are on a bad run of form, with only 8 points from their last 8 games.

Thank goodness that the Saddlers have managed a far superior 9 points from our last 9 games. Should be easy for us.

I thought to myself that there was bound to be a reaction to throwing away 2 points at Cheltenham, but there simply wasn’t. First half was just two average 4th tier sides cancelling each other out. We conceded just as we had improved but carried no threat. We did look a bit livelier following our substitutions but I think this was the week we buried our title hopes. The coming week will reveal a lot about the state of our promotion hopes.

DJ should easily be given a run in this team as it currently is.

Won’t though as there’s obviously loads better than him……… or something

I hope I’m wrong but it wouldn’t surprise me to see the same lineup on Tuesday and the same result.
There are players in the team that need a rest ie Barrett and others like Johnson who deserve a start and I’d be amazed if either happens.

You might regret posting this :man_facepalming:

Levi looks like a poor man’s Mo Faal sorry if that’s harsh but he does can anyone really see him as a league one player if we go up? He couldn’t get in the Bromley side.

Faal is way, way better than Amantchi. Fair enough he is someone Sadler signed to develop, but that isn’t that helpful to us in our situation right now.

Faal had some good ball control. He’s a better player than Levi. I do think Levi has some fantastic raw attributes though.

We’re is Skippy when you need him ? Has he fell down a well

I just don’t see anything in him yet people have mentioned Adebayo being completely honest I always saw a player in him from day one not this bloke it just looks like a cheap signing to pad the squad out much like the rest of of our January business tbh.

I’ve also got my doubts about wether the style of play was sustainable.

I don’t think we’ve put in a real top performance since beating MK at home. Cheltenham the best, but we threw it away. We haven’t looked like a top of the league team for a while.

Hopefully we can limp over the line. I can’t bear the thought of having to go into the playoffs. Judt being there would feel like a defeat. I can’t see us winning them.

As usual a lack of respect from some posters on Sadler. He has done a fantastic job but like any manager has made mistakes recently but has got far more right than wrong. Yesterday was poor, 0-0 was probably a fair result but we conceded our third deflected goal on the trot, that’s bad luck by anyones standards but saying that we created next to nothing yesterday so cant complain at losing.

Chang is clearly a very good footballer, he was solid at championship look level when he played. if we can get him involved for the last 10 games and it gets us over the line then it’s been a good signing, time will tell on that one.

Barrett is exhausted and has needed a break for weeks. It’s also his first season in the football league so he might be mentally tired as well (footballers are human). A 2 game break would do him a world of good. He was brilliant until about Christmas.

I see some posters are turning on Levi. He has looked dangerous and effective most times he has come off the bench. Yesterday he couldn’t get involved in the match but he has played his part since joining.

I rate Harrison, looks a useful player. Of course he is nowhere near Lowes level but it was going to be near impossible to replace him. Not sure what’s happened with Wheatley, might be more to that situation than we realise. I imagine United aren’t happy with the situation either.

It’s not sustainable if you don’t pick the players who have brought that style and success. From the settled midfield 3 of Stirk, Lakin and Jellis, yesterday’s selection was inexplicable. I’d say the same at the back, if Harry was fit he should have played - our inability to cleanly clear our lines has seen three scruffy goals and three points conceded in the last two games

Assume you mean Barrett

i dont see the hype around Harrison he is average at best we look toothless up front. DJ has to start his movement and knowing where the back of the net is will be invaluable all it means is the midfield might have to do some extra leg work but i think they can handle that. I hope Sadler can just give him a run because currently its not working
