How was the experience in the Locker tonight? Any better than last time?
You accuse many people of being Trolls don’t you. Basically anyone that refuses to fit in with your blinkered views of all things wfc
What’s that - a day and over forty posts to single out something to reply to that didn’t even address you? Do we need to another badge?
It’s a law almost as reliable as gravity: the bigger the wind-up merchant, the thinner their skin.
I’ve decided it’s best to ignore him. Struggled to construct replies worth reading within the context of the threads. Whilst I don’t agree with him, AndyP or Joaquim - you can have a discussion / debate with others - but this guy gets like that.
Went for my first visit to The Locker before the game last night, first impressions, all the door staff were very friendly and smartly turned out, and the rooms were very nicely done out, by that I mean painted and decorated, which you’d expect just opening of course.
The ceiling is done out like most warehouse sort of shops i.e B&M in Brownhills, which to tbf doesn’t look that bad at all, and the heating system they have installed was coming through the roof ducting made a very warm atmosphere in there after walking in the cold friday night air outside.
I didn’t get in early enough to have a drink, it was more for a nose around and to speak to a few people in there, who were complimentary about the beer, which I first thought was being served in proper glasses, but they are actually the toughened plastic ones with your brand names on which make them look like proper glasses.
The bars have ample room on first impressions, as long as there are enough staff to serve, this I hope they will cover once it is open for everyone to use and they have learnt from the queues from the other bar areas inside the stadium.
Didn’t see, or know if any food was available, or whether that won’t be served till they know which way they are going with the catering side of things in there, so can’t comment on that, but I’m sure when fans give their feedback food will be available and with the QR codes scattered around the tables fans can fill in a survey about the place, and there is a section about what foods we would like in there.
The tables and chairs are the one concern for me, and others in there, they are very school kid type for want of a better word, and are not very stable, this of course might be a temporary thing and if the tables and chairs were similar to say, like in the Mick Kearns Community Hub that would be an upgrade, but we will have to wait and see I suppose.
I think the club have just got it open to get fans in and then see what feedback we give them before they go all out and furnish it and decorate it, which then would leave themselves wide open for criticism no doubt from some so trying to avoid I’d presume.
I hope they are / will be doing more to the place as regards seating and putting some more decor around the rooms, but yes they have to start somewhere.
As I said I didn’t have a drink in there, but people said it was a decent drink, so they will need to maintain that, and hopefully when food is put on they will give that the same amount of attention as the improvements with the beer quality.
All in all not too bad in there and hopefully will get better and better the more we support it, but the club need to keep these higher standards with the beer and the food when it is made available as we don’t want to be hearing about burnt sausage rolls anymore.
UTS
PS What a performance on the pitch last night.
That was an excellent fully comprehensive review @RedandWhite cheers mate
It’s a huge plus to have this facility at the ground. Those who like the independent feel they have the railway.
Those who want to drink close to their seats have options
Those who meet with others who sit in other stands can now have the option at the ground
Worth the money - jury is out. Positive initiative certainly. Well done Trivella (on this one)
Yes things are changing. All the activities in the undercroft are giving those fans who want things to do before the game a place to do it. The buzz in there at the last 2 games has been lovely to behold.A good number of youngsters too…
Something that’s still a problem in the Stadium Suite, particularly when we get anywhere near a large crowd like last night.
I remember talking to one of the events guys just prior to the pandemic and the plan was to rearrange and revamp the bar areas to resolve this. Obviously with the pandemic and the ensuing financial implications that got shelved but I wonder if Trivela will revisit it.
Loads of people at half-time yesterday giving up queuing as it was too long. Didn’t help that the queue came to a standstill for 5 mins where they were trying to serve Guinness but didn’t know if they had any more. Once they’d finally sorted it there was then the normal delay of pouring. Strangely though the final pint was a normal temperature and very nice… compared to how it’s normally absolutely freezing.
There was “Accy’s Clarets” coach number 3 parked up in Lichfield Street this morning and I assume all the occupants were over the road in St. Matthew’s Hall spending a few bob.
They were Burnley fans from the Accrington Supporters Club branch ahead of their match at Villa later.
I know that it has been mentioned on here before, but making the Locker available to such custom could potentially generate a profit for us.
Fantastic game and result against wrexham.
The locker was sadly disappointing really felt like a school dinning room. Including picnic tables where i wouldnt feel comfortable sitting on for long, had one drink but couldnt get comfortableat all. I hope that they bring in more comfortable seating and use the rooms for community events but unless they get seating right cannot see it being used as much as it should hope im wrong.
Tbh I avoided the benches and sat for a couple of rounds on the high tables and the stools weee fine
However I agree and in my feedback I asked for some sofas comfortable seating, a bit more character a brick feature wall instead of all white even if fake boarding and somethings to make it WFC
Definitely could do with a couple of hot tubs , hooters style service but with middle aged football fans and a pre match bingo session
Excellent review. I was in there on Friday around 5.20pm and there were only 4 or 5 other fans in at that time but was told by Simon, The Locker manager, that all 200 tickets were snapped up.
I’m sure they’ll do a proper job, the inside was certainly way off where it needed to be when they did the test runs but that’ll be up to spec before too soon I hope.
Watching American sports I’ve noticed a lot of their “locker” areas are painted black and white. Wonder if it’s to run with the theme?
Maybe it’ll look cleaner for longer…
Like the trainer shops in Park street, Foot Locker, I think it may of closed down now, but that was all black and white if i remember correctly.
