The Locker

According to one of my sons, they were piling into the locker after the game,£5 a pint or not.

Always a great atmosphere in the Locker after a match, especially when we’ve won.

TBF £5 is getting towards being the norm , unfortunately.

£4.95

Oh, well that’s a massive reduction then…:joy:

Just stating a fact

Many years ago now, it was 95p for a pint of mild in the Red Cow in Pelsall.

Come the end of most nights my Dad had a bundle of 5ps where he had paid for a pint with a pound and got 5p change. He saved them up for a year, I won’t say how much he saved in 5ps but it was a lot. He was gutted when they put it up to 97p!

I remember going in there the very first time it was a Saturday afternoon and me and our kid were on our way home and was gagging for a pint .we went in and literally everyone in the pub was paralytic the bloke behind the bar was the worst it was hilarious to say the least they all made us feel very welcome .

It was definitely a boozers pub.

My Dad lived just round the corner on the Walsall Road so he was a regular in there.

Best pint of bank’s anywhere in the midlands many used to by pass the dolphin walk down slacky lane and have a jolly up

Hats off to Trivella.
Transforming, incrementally, our club after years of slow decline.
The match day experience is now a much more important factor than when most UTS posters cheered the Saddlers on at Fellows Park.

The whole matchday experience is so much better since Trivela came. Yesterday we had the games van, free samosas, great live music including at half time in addition to so much more choice of where to enjoy your pre match pint. I’ve now switched back to the Jimmy Walker suite because since the £5 has become £2 the Locker has become too full, leaving other bars far more accessible- which is absolutely fine - it’s all up side.

Still need to sort the catering. Completely out of pies in the Jimmy Walker suite at the start of half time and some very random maths when it comes to pricing. I still don’t understand how we can run out of what is essentially non perishable stock - especially when we have another home game in four days time

But overall a vast improvement.

Yep catering the main thing left to sort. I stopped buying due to the price but with the early kick off meaning I had no lunch, I went for a pie.

Kiosk had run out yet again, again, again.
Went in the hub, nobody at the bar so the girl by the food standing waiting, asked what pies they had, she told me, asked for one, she said you’ve got to go over there and order one. I said they’re about to kick off, can’t I just pay for one, she said no.

I said forget it I’ll grab something from Morrison’s after the match.

Got back to my seat, guy in front arrived back and told the same story, told him you’ve got to order one over there, he also said forget it.

The pre- order option is good, but people don’t always know/decide they want something in advance and need to easy be able to make a decision to buy at the time.

Stop putting barriers in our way to spending our money with you.

Can’t pay with cash.
Over priced.
Haven’t got any.
Have to pre-order.

If my mom had run her catering business she built up like that she’d have gone bust instead of being very successful like she was.

Thankfully the above is the only thing still to complain about at the moment.

Hope you enjoyed your chips in the Locker after the game though…

Yep, thought sod it and bought some chips from the van on the way out ( the only thing they had  which is fair enough after the game).

Piled extra high given they’d only get chucked so better value than usual😃

In fairness they were really nice chips, was pleasantly suprised.

Sat in the Locker to eat them but didn’t buy a drink.

Good buzz and atmosphere in there.

The best pint of Banks’s I ever had was at the British oak John street. never had a bad pint there.

Surely an email to Ben Sadler would go a long way to getting it sorted. He is a hands-on CEO ,if people send him emails it all adds to jigsaw that will drag wfc kicking and screaming into the 21st century. I’m sure he is fully aware of the problems anyway but if he wants to take the fans with him on this modernization journey he has to make sure that it works for us as well as the clubs bank balance. I mean, come on Walsall, we’re talking about pies here for christ sake, and this food shortage at games has been going on for years. I wonder if the fans who subscribe to the 1888 lounge ever run short of anything on match days. Just as an after thought, I put this problem to a panel scientists, and after great deliberation they came up with ‘ORDER MORE F*****G PIES’.

P.S anyone know Ben sadlers email address?

Pretty sure the old regime told everyone to send their emails to the SLO in the first instance…
