The Mat Sadler Thread

Yes mate. He couldn’t step in - as Newport put effectively 4 or 5 up front in the press.

I’m amazed @Andy_Petterson wasn’t able to see this, given his tactical genius.

I think I even mentioned this might be a problem weeks ago:

However given I have the insight of a 3 year old - I have no idea how I was able to work this one out

I didn’t say insight of a 3yr old. I said mentality. I wouldn’t rate your insight as high as that given you were puzzled by Stirk playing alongside Comley when it was obvious that this was to offer our defenders an extra pass to get around the Newport press.

Anyway onto a ‘must win’ game against Crawley. Perhaps Sadler ought to post his starting 11 in advance and ‘stick to his plan’ just to ensure Crawley have as much time as possible to think of ways to counteract it.

Oh yeah, because that worked well :rofl::rofl:

It’s clear you don’t have a positive winning mentality.

We should have been imposing our game on Newport. Have a bit of bollocks and let them worry about us.

Having 2 holding players and a back 3 is overkill, negative and especially bizarre considering it forces us to use wing backs who have a grand total of 4 assists between them all season.

It’s not rocket science is it ?

I don’t think Stirk started there I think we changed shape. Newport were 2-0 up very quickly, so I don’t think it’s valid to say Stirk playing there ‘didn’t work well’ in the particular circumstance against Newport. it could have easily become 1-2 with Faals chance then who knows from there.

Reads like something out of a Victorian coaching manual.

I think you should stop posting - you clearly have no idea what you’re talking about.

Right. With your in depth considered response I’m clearly going to be convinced that my assertion that you act like a petulant child is wrong.

No. Pointless arguing with someone who doesn’t understand the game.

Better for the thread. Have a nice day :wave:t2::smile:

Bye for now. Looking forward to your post match ‘analysis’ on the Crawley game which will no doubt involve saying Sadler ‘did what you suggested’ if we win and Sadler got it wrong if we lose.

I wonder if you two would agree that our results have taken a bit of a dip since McEntee got himself injured?

NO.
But we’ve had this one before it’s your usual muppetry.

Pure psycho-babble, vacuous nothing.
Money is what matters most.

Why would I have? We lost.
Come back when you can make a rational statement on… well any subject really.

Not what I meant Funk.
Just saying some of the mood swings and criticim are way over the top. Whilst in a Wolves fan style suggesting that we have a natural right to beat teams like… (Insert as applicable).

Again none of us know the game as well has the management team who pick the team and tactics and train the lads through the week. Yet we think we can all manage the team from the stands. We can all solve the teams problems and inconsistency and get us fighting for promotion its easy just need to score more goals than the other team we play.

Great insight.

We are 16th in league two. We’ve been shite for ten years.

Hope that helps.

Possibly longer if we hadn’t given Smith time to build a squad.

Fairly sure that City, Arsenal, and Liverpool have a consistent style of play

And Im fairly sure they also tailor their tactics depending on the opposition despite the obvious resource advantages they have over their opponents (that walsall dont)

Think that could be possible but also Daniel’s ain’t been great particularly at crucial moments.

The comparisons between Smith and Sadler are bonkers.

Yep, he’s a fantastic presence in the side - and a fantastic centre half. That back 3, with him and Daniels stepping in to overload is one of the positives for next season.

He’s not a number 8 in a billion years.

I despise a back 3, we would be much better with a flat back four imo.

Smith had us overperforming from the start, and yes there were some horrid runs along the way, but he didn’t really have a competitive budget in those times.

A lot of fans consider our squad to be the best we have had since we got relegated but our results are pretty much what we have had since then. The odd decent run of results but mostly just not good enough.
