Might be a gamble to have him as number two keeper and tbh I’d see him as third choice myself.
However if it means the budget stretched further in key areas like strikers to increase the calibra of recruit and if the first choice is injured go out for an emergency loan as others have in the past it might well be a gamble worth taking???

I guess I depends on how Matt sees a ‘tweak’. I can’t see a ‘tweak’ meaning the signing of 9 players as you have described. Dosnt really fit the language he used does it?

Trivella’s statement of intent was to get us up to the Champoinship or league 1 and pressing for the Championship and then sell us for a profit. It’s a long term investment which should bring them a much bigger return than penny pinching in league 2.
Well if the 3 don’t sign up who have been offered new contract he won’t have a choice. He’s hardly going to go into a new season with only 18/19 senior players in the squad is he? If the 3 sign up we need half a dozen which compared to the last 2 summers (12 and 17 incomings respectively) I think that can be regarded as more of a ‘tweak’. Equally he is probably playing a bit of poker, firstly showing his loyalty to the players he has and giving them an impression he has confidence in them to do well next season and secondly whatever the budget he’s hardly going to say I need loads of players and I’ve got a massive budget to work with and then the asking price for players and the contracts players are asking for goes up significantly. Judge the signings once they’ve all been made before being so judgemental and negative.

I’m not being judgemental or negative just passing my opinion that the signing of 9 players is hardly a tweak!.

He was probably hopeful at the time that Smith and Knowles/Foulkes would sign their contracts.
Still, need to bring in far less than previous years.

Who knows. But a tweak to me implies signing very few players. 3 or 4 maximum
IMO we need 3 or 4 TOP quality signings, without possible additional losses of Hutch and DJ… if the 3 contract delayers don’t sign it’s an additional 3 on top of that… don’t forget the loss of the loanees … all just to effectively go into the season standing still… not a TWEAK in anyone’s language but once again a Sadler statement that has holes all the way through it, here we go again

Madden did going to Chesterfield. Grigg also dropped down to non league with them (I know they pay loads).
Stockport signed Sarcevic when they were non league and he was a regular in league 1 and unsurprisingly he’s been a big part of their two promotions.
Won’t mention all the Wrexham signings as that’s a unique situation.
And errrrr Josh Gordon was playing in league one last season…o.k I’ll stop there! 
What about the fans moaning who have purchased season tickets? 
Not really true in the real world though is it that?
Last season was when the big increase was which was a bit annoying, yet despite a very poor second half of the season and the increase in price, and people saying they weren’t buying a season ticket, season ticket sales went up.

Well I have renewed my ST and while I am not shouting about us not splashing the cash, I am really concerned that we are struggling to compete with wages. That is a problem for me.

Similar build to Freddie Draper so would be interesting addition, effectively DJT replacement for this season and the scoring record is certainly more promising.
