The Official Summer No Transfer Rumours Thread 2024/25

Easy to say oh we can’t compete with FG wages, but we might not of had any interest in them. Let’s wait and see who we sign and then we can start whinging about budget etc and lack of ambition

I think FGR had one of the biggest budgets last season. Remind me where they finished…too much emphasis is put on the size of the playing budget in my view. You can still have a successful season without having a top budget although I think ours will be in top 10 which should be enough for a well managed and motivated team to compete.

Agreed. It just shows what your up against though with players like that dropping to non league

Both (in my opinion) would have been very very good additions

All quiet at the Bescot.

I agree, Serecombe in particular. Always liked him, but we are well stocked in Midfield, assuming Hutch stays that is

Both are 34.
Would we really want to compete with FGR , or indeed anyone, for players coming to the end of their careers ?

Depends if they improve the Team or not. Those 2 would definitely improve the Team

We are stocked with average players.

We really need these signings to elevate us.

If we don’t we can expect a lower finish than last season imo :person_shrugging:

Especially on the left-hand side!

I agree and I’m not sure if it’s because I’ve supported us for so long and have witnessed the types of poor signings we have made in the past or what but I’m not very confident at all that we will make signings that make us and other sides in this league sit up and pay attention.

Think for the vast vast majority on here it’s simply about our confidence in Trivela to show serious intent regarding promotion this and the coming seasons .and less of these wishy washy statements .ultimate goal ,future improvement ,and the dreaded incremental :triumph:we’ve had years of this bull .

Very quiet today, no tweets whatsoever.

Does this mean an incoming? :eyes:

A Contract Extension?

A bid For Hutch?

Or absolutely nothing

Or a bit of a combination of your points SirKen:

Sercombe was at Cheltenham for a while and has now moved to another club that will have a decent budget attempting to gain promotion next season that is also in the same region if he lives in the area. Probably a fair move before he retires.

I’d have wanted a signing a couple of seasons ago in the Sercombe mould but I think we can achieve better now.

Where’s he gone???

All inclusive in Magaluf mate only for 5 days, meeting the Sadler family for drinks in Palma Nova this evening I believe.
