Jack Nolan signs for Gillingham
Good signing, I can see them going very well next season.
Let’s just say there signing the right players to give it a proper proper right good go .
I can as well might be worth a cheeky bet Gillingham
Double figures goals for Jack Nolan last season from the wing and 9 assists. Still only 23.
Darrell Clarke calling him out in the press and even questioning his weight, which lead to a bunch of our lot giving him abuse for being “fat” looks like an absolute master stroke, doesn’t it …
Just saw a video with Taylor Allen and Isaac Hutchinson training at Essington this morning with a personal trainer.
Still remember when we first signed him and was brought on as a sub, looked very impressive I thought and commented to the guys around that he was going to be something special for us.
DC made a right mess of man managing him and calling him out like he did instead of having a quite word in his ear.
Get why he gave it the big un when he scored that penalty against us for Accrington after the shit he recieved fom DC and a minority of the fans, he would of been a very good re-sign for us imho.
If we played a 4-4-2 I would agree
I agree very good player in the making I thought at the time really sad to see him leave mistakes on both sides I think, he admitted on his side recently but like you, think he was treated harshly by DC.Walsall the loser unfortunately
Get your point, but don’t think DC played him as a winger when he first played for us did he though? more through the middle iirc
Tbh mate with the amount of appearances he made I can’t really remember, the lad wasn’t given a fair crack of the whip. Even if we were in for him on similar terms he may well of turned us down
I remember him playing out wide (were I though he impressed the most ) and central I also think he was left out by DC and scapegoated after a couple of losses
Possibly, but I think with him as a player, and possibly others it was DC that was the problem not the club.
Another club doing good business before us??? What a shock.
Really should be interested in both. I mean one was a regular in Wrexham team last year and the other scored double figures from midfield in league one!!!
Only reason not to would be if signing anyone over 30 has been scrapped now after Hussey’s inglorious spell and DJ not being fancied much so Sadler would rather just work with players under 25 which would suit the club aswell.
I say all that with Josh Gordon turning 30 in October…
Pretty sure that Nolan admitted in an interview that his behaviour at Walsall was not something he is proud of.
However, if people want to rewrite history, I guess that’s up to them…
Not quite Ishmel Demontagnac naughtiness, but the manager has to set a standard and if players don’t measure up, forget them.
I maybe wrong, but thought he was referring more to how he looked after his self rather than how he behaved.
As I said, I may of interpreted the reasons wrongly, but it was a difficult time around when he was here, covid or there abouts wasn’t it or shortly after? and I think quite a few people did things maybe they could of done differently.
He’s grown up a bit by now and realises what a privileged position he is in being a decent professional footballer, and hope for one he doesn’t come here and rub our noses in it again next season.
Luke has now been released by Southampton, wonder if a move back to Walsall is on the cards. Seven goals in eleven games in PL2 this season…
More chance of us signing Micky Pearce from Only Fools and Horses.
I know this isn’t the right thread but did anyone else watch the second episode of football cops.
They covered 2023 Crewe v Walsall focusing on the 14 year old Crewes ultras.
