The Official Summer No Transfer Rumours Thread 2024/25

Funny they just said Crawley signed Orsi based on his xG……weird thing to do when it’s so pointless :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I thought that was the route we were meant to be going down with our recruitment, or was that just noise?

Not sure what Josh Gordon’s XG is…

All clubs use it as part of their recruitment now though. Its not a special thing.

At least we arent using the yellow pages to sign players anymore…which we did for years

In fairness xG for Gordon probably is decent, xG doesnt mean he can hit a barn door though. Or ever will.

If he can’t find something that’s 24 foot by 8 foot, I doubt that Gordon can find the G-spot!
And as Labadie and Shade have proven, ex doesn’t mark the spot…

You reckon he’s faking it

Not sure how he’d fit in?! He was still playing regularly for a mid table championship side so that sort of signing you actually change the team shape to accommodate the player e.g. Oztumer.

I could actually see Sawyers coming back here if back in league one in the near future.

If Kilometres ran was part of the final league table we’d be top 3 with his work rate, but it isn’t so whilst he works hard I’d rather have a striker that scores you 12-18 goals a season.

Just watched Eddie Howe on Stick to Football talking about what it takes to get out of League Two.

“There were no secrets, we had an out and out goalscorer, we relied on Brett Pittman for goals.”

Interesting stuff from one of the most revered managers in the country both for style and achievement.

Can you get minus XG?

It helps doesn’t it? Unfortunately they cost money and command the highest wages unless we start paying it we won’t get one.

Faal will easily be one in a year or two. Indeed he already hit double figures at this level comfortably this season so not a stretch he’ll do the same at league one eventually.

That’s who you put a big part of the budget towards, not re-signing Josh Gordon on a two year deal. :man_facepalming:

All the talk on DJT but I’d be even more disappointed if Sadler genuinely wants Josh back full time given it was one goal in twenty in his loan spell.

Gordon be one of our first signings . Sadler will be in contact already for a nominal fee
Faal will be expensive. I expect a league 1 loan next year

Rumours on Faal that Shrewsbury are interested should WBA want to send him out on a league one loan

I wouldn’t be surprised if we see both Faal and Gordon here.
I’d be happy with Faal, there’s a player in there for sure if he can be given the chance to settle at a club.
I don’t want Gordon, but I really do think he’s the type of forward Sadler wants in terms of work rate. We will still need to sign a proper goalscorer, over to you Trivela.

Makes sense, why another league 2 move as he’s proven himself at this level.

I’ve heard those one too, Paul Hurst has made him (Faal) their number one forward target so sadly I don’t think he will be coming back which is a real shame.

I think they’ll be interest for sure and it’ll be interesting to see how much he could potentially go for.

That article claims he was signed from Fulham, some journalists are bloody awful with their knowledge.
