Noticed that Pressley was at the Villa when Albert was there. As well as the obvious players out of our price range, (Louie Barry) interesting that he played alongside Brad Young, the lad who went to the Saudi Pro League.

Maybe he’s made some money and is homesick now…

Why do we keep getting 6ft + strikers anyway? Can someone remind Sadler that It’s not the only way to play football, maybe the only way to play hoofball, but I’d much rather have two midgets like Kevin Wilson and Alan Buckley any day.

I like different options to be fair, same systems different types of players etc. But a target forward is essential, he doesn’t have to be big just someone that holds onto the ball.

In fairness i think we have done that last couple of years, perhaps some not good enough but still.

Or sunburnt. Can’t be good for a ginger playing in Saudi Arabia

I think the problem with tall strikers also, is that people naturally assume they will be good in the air, good at holding the ball up, this is often not the case.

To me, good forward play is about movement off the ball more than anything else.

We want our scorer to be another loan signing?

Absolute goal machine though. Hasn’t seemed to have worked out in Saudi so, as a Solihull lad, he’d be worth a punt.

Just throwing this out there as both are just rumours at the moment.

Does anyone think there’s a world where we’d sign Pressley and Cheek?

I know it’ll cost and i know it’d probably be based on Jamma turning a contract down and possibly another of our strikers going out on loan for a start.

That for me would be a real statement of intent. Big/Target Man alongside a goalscoring ā€œveteranā€ who’s more than proved last season, he can bag goals at L2 level.

Would you all take that as opposed to Pressley and a loanee such as Tezgel? Thinking more of us getting our fingers burnt again.

Dont think theres a cat in hell’s chance, just throwing it out there.

Pressley, yes.

Cheek, no chance.

@Bags10 Just throwing it out there based on rumours mate. He’s apparently linked to Wigan aswell and ive got no idea what his contract situation is like at Bromley.

34 in August so i cant really see anyone paying a ā€œmassiveā€ fee for him regardless of his Golden Boot/POTS awards last season.

No…massive NO

I 100% agree with that mobility .intelligence .and a bit ruthless .or selfishness.

Cheek would’ve been the sort of January signing that would’ve guaranteed promotion imo. Getting Amantchi instead obviously didn’t but let’s see where he is in two years.

Be interesting to see how next January is approached if club is firmly in the top 7 again, ā€œlessons learnedā€ and all that.

I’m just expecting the same again.

There’s a player just been released who’s movement off the ball, especially in the area is very good. It gets him quite a few goals. Any guesses?
