The Official Summer Transfer Rumour Thread - 2025 edition

Or Nicky Butt ?

To me, the difference in player skill levels in league 2 is not that great. Some are better than others obviously,

The real trick is, to sign players that fit what you are trying to do, with a range of players with different skills and attributes. This is where we got it wrong replacing Lowe, in my opinion. We were unlikely to get someone as good but we signed the wrong profile of player/s altogether.

I totally understand and Sadler’s comment about being inundated with agents ringing him didn’t help.

Really pleased we didn’t sign Ellis Harrison permanently though.

Had Cook not got injured at Bradford, I wonder whether Mellon would have gone to us instead. I think he would have done well for us, but I guess it’s just conjecture now.

I’d rather have Nicky Minaj!

Could Mellon still be a realistic target ? Didn’t jump up any trees at Bradford but has scored goals at this level before

Now that Oldham are in league two, he might sign for his dad. I’ve always rated the young striker though. :+1:

We’ve just released Ryan Twirk and Nathan Assimwe’s returned to Charlton…

But rest assured we will be scraping the bottom of the barrel

Which is preferable to scraping the barrel of the bottom…

I believe that Manny Monthe got a 12 game ban for saying something similar to MK Dons new big money signing.

Hopefully the first game of the season will be Oldham v MK Dons. The first corner of the game could be ā€˜interesting’…

Matt was signed under this regime for decent wages (and a fee) on an 18 month deal.

Shouldn’t be beyond them to sign that type in a summer window.

Yes look at the success it’s brought us.

Wonder whether we could get Tyler back?

Always injured.

I saw Tamworth had signed Tyler Roberts, I thought ā€œblimey that’s a coupā€ Not the same player
