Burke can play right sided centre back as can the guy from Drogheda so maybe use the money for top notch elsewhere although we do need another centre half anyway

Last couple of years weâve signed well on the whole but over the last 10 years then point taken.
Regarding Dave, I personally wouldnât put him as a league one defender just yet, maybe in time. I do however think he is a decent league two defender with faults who is still extremely young and should improve. I personally find it baffling the comments from some on him.

Personally Iâm not all that fussed about Dave either way
Very sad if true. He is young and I rate him but if we get a decent fee then he can be replaced. I would like an experienced CB brought in to play alongside the younger players we have signed.

That will be 4 central defenders to have left the club from the end of last season , 2 on a free and 2 for money .
Plus weâve lost Williams as well , so 5 .
Hopefully replacements are incoming and quick , doesnât give a lot of time for the integration

Good point. The sooner the better.
Always thought Dave was a serviceable L2 defender who was at his best when alongside Williams and Allen in a settled backline. Really struggled though when personnel started to change and he had a proper shocker at Wembley.
To get a transfer fee seems like decent business if we can reinvest it into some decent, experienced midfielders.

Yes basically the entire defensive unit has gone apart from Barret and Weir .
Definitely think we need at least one possibly two central defenders and at least one good centre midfielder

Agreed, wouldnât have minded keeping but if we get a fee also fine with him moving on.
Although forget the midfield for now if he does indeed go weâd need at least 2, arguably 3 central defenders.

Hopefully the new defence can learn how to defend throw ins. With Stirk gone too, we also need a CDM who can prevent the shot from the edge of the box (like our ill fated Wembley appearance).

Yes I think thatâs right, Iâve said on here that I thought thatâs what we were last season, a average lge 2 team who rode the wave while Lowe was here which made average players play above themselves then when it all started to unravel for whatever reason we were not able to turn it round.
Players who were average before couldnât even get to that level.
This is my criticism of MS in that we havenât heard his and his staffs version of what was happening and what they were trying to do to change things, also the reasons behind the way DJ was used.

That would be the trio gone then. Allen and Williams are certainly big misses. Dave has potential but was prone to errors probably due to his age. Where is Adegboyega? He was a proper player until Coach Sadler put him on the naughty step.

He went to Dundee United on loan from Norwich.
Norwich have extended his contract for another season.
Wouldnât surprise me if he was loaned to a league 1 side.
