The Official Summer Transfer Rumour Thread - 2025 edition

I get that, me included. But there are obviously levels to signings and this is clearly a low budget squad option with seemingly some potential upside. Let’s see where we are at the end of the window.

He won’t do that mate, he will have to find a spot for Jamille. To help the other 10 defend corners.

Good luck to the lad. Experience is badly needed. It was needed the last half of the season. It’s needed now. Over to trivela

Let’s hope he has more of a chance than Luipsic (not sure on spelling)

Guess so, will take this one if we also signed someone like Aden Flint or actually sign him

He did. He really impressed me, ok it was only Leamington but i thought he was really good. He was number 20

Definitely a back up for the LCB position behind Weir

Would like to think there’s still one more experienced centre half to come in, someone like a Flint.

Cheap young squad filler. Good luck to the lad. Next.

Cox wont play a minute all season

He’ll play in the Vertu Cup

What a pathetic waste of time we are becoming… anyone fancy a “meh” signing to spoil yet another weekend as a Walsall supporter… STUBBORN SADLER and his rigid approach to recruitment strikes again. Not seen this kid but can we really afford someone with ZERO EFL experience in a “weakened” defence. I hope he proves me wrong but it’s becoming a real concern to me that we have a very poor looking midfield and no real “leaders” in the squad at the heart of the defence or midfield

He had a good change of pace too.

We need a ‘proper’ captain

Is this one of the exciting signings we were promised.. Wish this guy all the best and i get its a cheap addition to the squad, but not what we wanted to hear right now.

If Farq gets 20 games max this season he will have done well. Rest of the back 3 worries me as there is no real solid experience in there. Big Dave has always got a mistake in him, and going by Pomlett stating the likes of Williams, Jellis and Barrett were all burnt out for being their first full season in fulltime pro football, then with Burke being one of our assumed 1st choice CB’s the this is not the type of signing we needed.

All i can assume is that our budget has not reflected the extra income gained from last season from the fantastic home support and increased attendances, cup run, Wembley also sale of Tails. Not mention losing a couple of the bigger earners.

Forget the pre-season positivity, I sadly see a struggle ahead.

Whatever i think of Sadler, he can’t be blamed for the quality of signing we are making. He can only work within the clearly restricted budget that he has been given. And even then i have huge doubt if he has much say on who we are signing.

After last season i really expected Trivela to come out and show true intent for this season, particularly on the back of what must have been very good early bird season ticket sales and to make up for the complete fcuk up.of last season. It just leaves you feeling like you have just found out that your best mate has been shagging your girlfriend.

I know we are doing ok in pre season but when august 2nd arrives im not convinced we will be ready. And also if we dont sign these 2 big signings as the club and sadler as said i feel the worse.. ps nothing against the new players we have signed and i wish them well. This club of ours are going backwards and are not showing the fans any ambition specially after last year
