We paid money for this bloke, but couldn’t find the extra money to get Draper, who was our main target. I know what things have been said but I’m not convinced we were ever getting Draper. I don’t doubt there was an enquiry, and probably talks but were we ever serious. Easy to make a token offer and say we were close.

I totally agree with you. Most likely it wasn’t the fee that was the problem for the Draper move. He would want the same wage or better that he is on at Lincoln.

First of all, they may not want him and second, even if they do, he may not want to go to play for them / play in Ireland, for various reasons.
It seems to be the default opinion about any player that people feel isn’t quite good enough, “send him to Drogheda” I think the same as you.
I never thought DJT would go there though, to be fair.
It could be a decent option for Amantchi, but whether it is viable, I don’t know. I’d like us to get another forward if it did happen.
