That time of year is fast approaching when we start turning our attention to potential new recruits for next season. While it might still be a bit early - with automatic promotion still within reach and the play-offs if we miss out - it’s hard not to get excited about what’s to come.
Much will hinge on the outcome of the next couple of games (the next four or five if the play offs are required). Still, the summer transfer window promises to be an exciting one for us as fans. We already know that Elicha Ahui is set to join the club after signing in the winter from Drogheda, though he’s been finishing the season on loan in Ireland.
There’s plenty of intrigue too - could we see another approach to Lincoln City for Freddie Draper? Will Stoke City be sending out Nathan Lowe or Tommy Simkin on loan to gain League One experience? If so, a familiar setting at the Poundland Bescot Stadium could be ideal should we achieve promotion. And with Cambridge United likely heading down from League One, there may be an opportunity to bring back former loanee Liam Bennett, especially with his contract reportedly up this summer.
And of course, summer wouldn’t be complete without the return of @WestieJack and @MoroccoMole. Get your worms ready - it’s shaping up to be a summer full of promise and potential.
After our capitulation this year who the fook will want to come here , burnt our bridges with Man U and fook Stoke we’ll be having cast offs again from Bromley etc ffs
In a nutshell! We will be lucky to get any players to come to the Bescot, who would want to come anywhere near a squad of useless bottlers…may as well close this thread right now!
Apparently Emre Tezgel has turned down a new deal with Stoke and wants to move permanently for first team football. I wonder if we’d be in for him with our Stoke connections…
Read an article from him about a year ago where he said he didn’t enjoy his loan spell at MK Dons because he was too far from home, i assume he lives in Stoke.
Whichever division we’re in next season, he’d be one of the first signings I’d make.
