I don’t think it is him but it wouldn’t surprise me if he popped out of one of the suitcases on arrival.
Would make sense that 43 years old ,Albert on one wing him the other .
A yellow drawstring bag to all 350 attendees and then 6 Trivela Gillets lucky dip
Thank God
Let’s get naughty.
A bit more on the Faal situation.
Several cogs in motion.
We have a deal on the table for Faal - which the Albion are currently not agreeing to.
From what I can gather, whilst sniffing amongst the bushes and hedgerows… is that it is something to do with FFP for Albion, and future income from a Faal sale. I’m not clear on why this comes into it… but just the whispers on the wind I’ve heard.
DJ is the highest paid player at the club - we need to move him on in order to get in Faal (as I understand, to free up more wages and increase our share in the deal). I don’t believe he has a virus keeping him out for the entirety of pre season.
We are looking at others targets, Swann was one we had bid for but was rejected. I think we have since moved on.
I hope we don’t put everything into hoping Faal comes off… then left with worse than what we had last season.
I’ll update when I hear more.
Can I have some grubs?
Said this from the day it was announced, wherever he ends up (probably a loan that Walsall will have to subsidize) ) he will have magically recovered and be ready to play
can see him joining Flynn at Cheltenham maybe
Why, why, why did we sign DJ and then not utilise him - this needs an honest explanation!
Is that view based on evidence? In what way does his non-playing make him a more valuable commodity?
if you told me this just under a year ago i would’ve lost my fkn head
This is walsall though
Whatever the whys and wherefores, the sad fact is DJ as our highest earner has been a colossal waste of precious resources, we don’t have the biggest budget by any means and we simply cant afford to have our highest earner barely contributing. For him and for us, it’s in everyone’s interests to get him moved on.
Didn’t someone post that he’s on £1800 a week. If that’s true and he’s the highest earner then it’s no wonder we can’t attract any strikers
there was talk of wilko being on 4k a week a few years ago, can’t be true
He wasn’t ever “not utilised”. The explanation is this (but people insist on looking for something more)….
He signed for Walsall in July having not played football for nearly 7 months.
He then missed large chunks of pre season due to his baby being born and complications with this.
His grandfather then passed.
He started the season playing on adrenalin and scored in the first two games. He then started 6 of the next 9 without scoring and in those 11 games started 8 and we won just 1 of them as a lack of solid base fitness affected his performances and he was way off the level.
Freddie then came onto the side and did ok didn’t he?
We then had 5 centre backs missing through injury and changed formation to just one up front - Freddie - who was playing very well, I think?
DJ came back onto the side and was pretty poor.
He then had a shoulder injury and missed several games.
He then broke his toe and missed even more games.
He then came onto the side on a few occasions and really struggled other than one game where he came on as a late sub and scored a winning goal.
There is no secret to any of this. But people insist on assuming he was fit, raring to go, sharp as a razor, training like a lion……and that Sadler just didn’t like him.
How does any of this need additional explaination?
1800 a week plus bonuses is what i was told last year when he signed hardly mega money in this day and age. That was from someone who knows the agent involved in the deal as well.
Same here. I did not believe it for one second.
His instagram holiday photos showed no sign of sickness and looked extremely well on arriving for 1st day of training.
After the Watson scenario, I have no idea why the club feels the need to lie to us.
I recommend that you bookmark that, save you having to rewrite it n a couple of weeks’ time
IF the club are making the virus effects thing up it is a stupid lie to tell and they’ll have zero credibility going forward if there are any less than straightforward issues with any of the squad. We’ll find out when the window closes. By my reckoning if he’s still here it’s true, if he isn’t then it’s a lie as no club would sign him unfit
Wow. what a clown sharing all the details on a public forum about the complications with his baby and bereavements within his family. Did you seek djs permission to post all of this ?
